Reconstructionist Judaism is a group that wants to "reconstruct" Judaism, making it a "modern" ideology, that believes in a "natural" not supernatural God, that Jewish laws should be seen as folk customs to be changed by the folk when they conflict with modern liberal, democratic, principles, etc, etc. It used to appeal mainly to intellectual types, who like its Deweyan philosophy. At some point it also began to draw more hippy types, and thats when it became heavily vegetarian. No connection to the Temple, except free association on seeing Brachys post.

BTW, if youre interested, theres a Recon shul in Baltimore, up near Roland Park, I think. They were mainly veggie, and thats largely where i got my impression the whole movement is today. I suppose if I looked i could find some meat eating Reconstructionists.

Agreed the whole attending a Madrassa is rather moot considering the time frame involved.

OTOH, he is considered a follower of Islam by virtue of birth and now claims he is a Christian. That makes him an apostate. What if any repercussions follow him in execution of foreign policy specifically dealing with Islamic nations given his (by Sharia law) most serious of crimes, apostasy?

It's been hilarious in Chicago the last couple of days.
Obama came out and endorsed Daley for Mayor of Chicago (probably a payback for Daley supporting him)

But all the black Mayor-wanna-bes that are running against Daley are going crazy denouncing Obama.
They're accusing him of closing his eyes to all the corruption associated with the mayor while campaigning for reform. This stuff is priceless. One wannabe was quoted as saying "this just proves he doesn't have what it takes to be President" The fact that he's backing a white candidate over a black candidate (not that any of them probably have any chance at all) is a slap in the face of all black people.

Depends on when or if his dad renounced Islam. If prior to his birth, Obama is in the clear. If an Islamist at time of birth, IIRC Obama is Islamic by virtue of birth similar to a person being Jewish by birth if the mother is Jewish.
