Where's the new Zelda title that they have pinned so much hope on?
Selling too fast for Asher to list.
I didn't make thie list, and Gears of War outsold Zelda by about 2:1.

Yes, but the X360 will have a whole YEAR exclusive on FIFA, which is sure to snap up the European market, which as we all know is something video game companies deeply, deeply give a **** about. I'm assuming here that FIFA gets the same attention over there that Madden gets over here, mind you.

You however are the one that did the bolding. I was questioning the Halo Wars bold.

It's Remedy's psychological thriller targeted for January (they were the people who made Max Payne).

You seriously doubt Halo Wars -- a Halo game by Ensemble Studios won't break one million copies?

Seeing as FIFA and PES6 aren't even coming to the Wii...

And Europe is the 2nd biggest game market, behind North America. Japan is now the smallest.

              Of course they care...

Errr...a horrible PC port of a PC franchise on a Nintendo console? It sold horribly, I expect.

I'm not sure how this compares to a game designed specifically for a console with the game's best selling franchise as the subject.

Playing a RTS on a console in 1920x1080 won't be bad at all. Especially with a non-PC like interface, a la Battle for Middle Earth 2 on the 360.

360's outnumber Wii's by a far larger margin, which suggests that Zelda is far more popular

Last I read roughly Zelda:TP has sold roughly 3 copies for every 4 Wii's.

Well since you're so down on Nintendo, how many units did The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II sell on the 360?

You're awfully fanboyish about a game that is currently nothing more than a trailer without even any in-game screenshots.

Halo Wars might sell well. But it's far more likely to sell well on the word "Halo" than on some brilliant innovation that makes RTS doable on a console.

Actually, the Wii might be able to do RTS's well

Yes, Asher, the games are the same...so far. But as I said, they're just learning to implement the controller. Give them time and the games will be different. The first games out for a new console are invariably the ones that make the worst use of its abilities, because programmers haven't yet learned the abilities from experience. Red Steel would probably be a lot more fun if the controls were less clumsy, no? As would Zelda if Link swung his sword as you swung the Wiimote?

And if you think the means of control isn't an integral part of the gaming experience...huh? Light guns are a bit different from the Wiimote, seeing as all you can do with them is point and pull the trigger. A light gun is a glorified mouse, and a Mac mouse with only one button at that. The wiimote, especially with the nunchuck attachment, promises a lot more: it can sense movement in three dimensions, and for two different parts as well with the nunchuck, in addition to a fair number of buttons, a D-pad, and an analog stick.

EDIT: Take shooters, for example. Halo 2 used the two analog sticks for lateral and radial movement respectively, though you could toggle it to a more logical (to my mind) run-and-gun format. The Wii could do that far more intuitively, and with a good deal more complexity as well. Note that Master Chief can dual-wield at two different targets on the Wii...

Considering there are ZERO other games even close to acceptable quality, why is that surprising...?

I actually don't think any console will ever be able to do RTS's as well as the PC. The ease of hotkeys alone make the play experience better for me now that I got the hang of them.
