The winner of the BCS champion game is the recognized champion. Participants in both polls are required to vote the victor of that game #1 no matter what. If someone were to be a renengade and vote someone else #1 there vote is automatically disqualified by rule.

Computer polls could find someone else ranked #1 - but not the 2 feeder polls.

Oh...that sucks. I like the disputes from having split championships. What Nazi came up with that requirement? What if Rutgers got spurned, was undefeated and defeated a one-loss UF while USC defeated OSU? I'd prefer Rutgers getting the props. Frigging BCS Nazis.

That assumes quite alot. It assumes OSU beats Michigan. It assumes USC beats Cal, ND and UCLA. Finally it assumes that the formula finds that those 3 victories are sufficient to move 1 loss USC over 1 loss Michigan.

And thats only commenting on the first line of the projection

I agree - but I think the whole thing sucks. 16 team playoff is the way to go!

but any SEC team other then VANDY needs to be taken seriously.

Dude, Vandy has a better record than Mississippi State and Mississippi. The bottom-quarter of the SEC is uniformly terrible.

BTW, does anyone else find the eulogizing of Bo Schembechler to be a little over-the-top? Sure, the guy sounds like he was a good coach, but he never even won a national title...

They should disband, out of respect for Bo.

Back in the day, it wasn't about winning a national title, but rather winning the Big Ten and going to the Rose Bowl, the Granddaddy of Them All.

Bo built the foundation for the modern-day Michigan program. He defined what it meant to be a Michigan Man. All the coaches after him have been Michigan Men. Maybe not the best game coaches, but they have run a good program and kept the Michigan tradition. That means something here.

I think it is a shame that the Big Ten champion doesn't automatically go to the Rose Bowl anymore to play the Pac 10 champ. It's just not the same nowadays.

I said in another part of the post - "the two feeder polls." Harris replaced AP and is required, along with the other poll, to vote the BCS champion #1 or the vote is disqualified. Currently, The AP poll has as much impact on the determination of the college champion as an Apolyton poll would.

Except no one would consider it a divided championship anymore than they would if some other poll voted someone other than the Champion first.
