You really need to get over that. Seriously. It's borderline pathologic.

Looks like USC will be #2 if they beat ND because they'll get some more love from the computers.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
The Wolverines played with great heart and impressive offensive execution in a feral road setting -- but they were inferior to the Buckeyes.
The final score is closer than the game played out. The Buckeyes had 106 more yards of total offense and gift-wrapped 10 Wolverines points with a botched center snap and a tipped-ball interception deep in their own territory. They were a minus-three in the turnover department -- two of them utterly unforced -- but never really had to sweat in the final 15 minutes.
And he's absolutely right that ND couldn't handle OSU. Last year's bowl game proved that one, and OSU is better this year.

ND gave OSU a game last year. I don't know what changed to make it any different this year.

34-20 is 'giving them a game'? If 2 TD loss is what ND fans consider giving a team a game, maybe they really don't deserve a BCS bowl bid!

It was a 7 point game until the last 2 minutes as I recall. That's a game by any objective standard.

If you think so (ignore the fact that OSU had 617 yards of offense compared to ND's 348)...
Though I want to see the ND offense try to contain the improved OSU offense. With Ginn, Gonzales, and Robisky being far more dangerous than they were last season.

ND's defense is better this year as well. Pretty much a wash.

In any event, I can understand why Barton would want to play USC rather than ND. For novelty, if nothing else -- the same location, same opponent for a second year in a row probably wouldn't be as much fun. Doesn't make his thoughts profound or anything.

Yeah, don't think so. I wonder how good Michigan thought that ND defense was . And OSU put on an offensive clinic last year against ND, but now have better receivers (they may have lost Holmes, but Gonzales and Robisky more than make up for it, and Ginn is better), a more seasoned QB, and a just as dangerous, if not more, running game.
