If that is true, is this weekend the BIG GAME or the first half of the BIG GAME.
I know it wouldn't be popular. But unless there is a blowout, these 2 teams are the 2 best teams no matter the outcome of the game.
It might be true that they are the best and second best, but I doubt that anybody would vote in such a way as to set up a rematch.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
I have no special reference to Bo, but know that he was well respected by many others.
RIP.

Are people flying the buckeye flag or is that just a Cowlumbus thing?

I do agree that the UM/OSU loser should reasonably be ahead of ND or Wisconsin (from head to head) for the #2 slot, but that does not correlate to who I want in the game. I guess to me, it's not just about most deserving number 2 in the game, but about having an interesting matchup (not an immediate repeat). Let someone who has not played the other play them. Also, let FSU or Wake or Southern Cal or such have a shot. Also, I would rather see Rutgers or Boise (if they win out) get a shot at the OSU-UM winner, then watch a rematch.
I think the top two teams should play regardless.
The top two teams DESERVE to play.
It's hard to say it will be an imediate repeat since the game will be played over 6 weeks later.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Agreed, but there's a lot of money at stake, and I'd hate to see a team deserving get pimped, just because they've already played. Besides, I think it clouds the eventual champion. If the third best team gets into the big game, winning doesn't necessarily make them the best team, if the second best team wins also.
But you're right, i guess part of the fun is argueing about it.

I know they had to be dropped in rankings, and all I'm saying about Longhorns is it was unfortunate Colt went down.

I know it comes up every year, but if I were the God of College Football this is what I would do.
Shorten the regular season 1 game
Take the 11 Conference champions plus the best 5 at large teams and form a 16 team playoff.
With a shortened seaon the round from 16 to 8 would be the equivalent of the last game of the season.
The round of 8 - 4 would be the equivalent of the Bowl Game that all these teams would play anyways.
So what would be extra. 2 teams would play 1 extra game and 2 teams would play 2 extra games.
I don't think 3 extra football games in a season of 1000's would ruin the academics of the nation's universities.
POSITIVES:
All those early bowl games that no on cares about would be worth watching.
Lot's more money for the univerisities.
And MOST IMPORTANTLY: All teams would have an equal chance. Put another way, any team that went undefeated (regardless of Conference or percieved ranking) would be the national champion.
