You're the ones who have so much of your self-worth wrapped up in inflated views of your own intelligence and logical abilities that you feel the need to belittle the faith of decent, religious people in order to prove you're better than those "sheep". And you think I'm the insecure one?

Surely then you're in danger of becoming a 'missionary' for atheists if you start recommending these books to theists?
Personally I prefer letting the sheep wallow in their own self-absorbed ignorance. That way I get to laugh at Drake talking bollocks as usual...
This is very very true, but it depends on where you see the world going (forgive my typing if errors creep in... I really need to buy swimming goggles... right now I feel like a British soldier in WW1 after the wind's changed). I'm increasingly of the view that atheism, secularism, naturalism and reason in general needs to be defended against superstition and irrationality which is being pedelled by religious charlatans (from the USA to Saudi Arabia and Gaza) using all the techniques of the marketeer. What can science possibly hope to defend itself with?. Facts? Good luck!
You don't have any more knowledge about god than anyone else does. It's the height of arrogance to think that you're so damn educated and intelligent that you can know the unknowable...
Bollocks. You think two different opinions about the same thing are equally valid? If one side is presented with facts and enough evidence to fill a library the size of a small galaxy, and one side with little more than a bronze-age text and the conviction of "I'm right, so there" (which seems to be the conviction you have, theist or atheist or whatever the hell you are), who do you think is going to win?
I dare say your average atheist who has had to think his way out of religion has done a hell of a lot more thought and research on the idea of a God than a person who has just stuck to what he was taught at his mother's knee.
Another religious thread by atheists. I find it amusing.
Why? I think it's a perfectly reasonable question.
Just because you're an atheist doesn't make you special, there are plenty. Go masturbate to the book some more.
Where did I say that I'm something special?

And while I consider Agnosticism to be the most rational.. I think that atheism is mostly just silly.

And what? I was the one asking the question. Did you never learn to not answer a question with a question? You think you're a shrink or something?

Why? You have provisional agnosticism which is rational if you assume that the existence and non-existence of God is equally probable (which is a curious assumption to make). You also have agnosticism in principle which is little different than a God in the gaps argument (call it, a possibility-of-God in the gaps), relying on the premise of lack of evidence, but that goes on to say, if it's principled, then one ought not to seek evidence.
I.e., "one will never be able to prove the existence of God" implies that one should not try. This ignores the principle of parsimony which would support my argument (the God proposition must provide evidence).
Either way, unless you can show existence/non-existence of God is 50/50, agnosticism is bunk.
