I never thought I'd literally utter these words of Erwin from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, but wiggity-WHAT?!?

      Spoiler:
Why didn't they just confront Cmdr. Adama and request/demand to be allowed to see their daughter while they were still in the vicinity of the basestar that had her, also mentioning the fact that she's ill? I mean, I get that they knew she'd be resurrected on one of the basestars if not THE basestar they were looking for, but wtf Pekka?

Because he might say no? (and then keep them under watch to make sure they can't do it.)

Adama was in the middle of a nuclear standoff. They probably figured he wouldn't react well if they asked "Can we borrow a Raptor to go visit the people you're trying to stare down?" Besides, why would they assume the Cylons would let them abord?

          • Chief is vindicated... as it wasn't push the damn obvious looking button .

Though, of course, we have the prophetic Starbuck picture plot and now the who did Xenabot recognize from the final 5 plot. Ah, it's great to have it back.

            • The chief is hardly vindicated. The "button" WAS the clue: It was the damned super nova. It took the star kerploding for him to figure out that the star that was just moments before was only on the verge of kerploding and they all knew it was in fact the Eye of Jupiter. I took others to figure out they should look for stars that kerploded 4,000 years before.

Anyway, "I'm sorry. I had no idea..." So who in past episodes did Xenabot kill that she thought was just an ordinary, run-of-the-mill colonial but now realizes isn't?

                • Well, she didn't kill him. Boomer Sharon and Caprica 6 whacked her before she could kill him after bombing the cafe, allowing him to escape before the Metal Cylons could dig them all out of the rubble. If I recall correctly, that particular Xenabot was tinkered with to prevent her from resurrecting and ratting Boomer and Cap6 out. Nevertheless, he does seem a candidate.

He was the one who figured out the nova was the Eye. Not like anyone else had a clue. And it wasn't PUSH the button as said before.

Such as this quote by someone:

[q=DRoseDARs]What I don't get is why Tyrol doesn't just push the button in the middle of the eye on the pillar. In every movie and tv show that has a temple with ancient carvings, the secret is always pushing the button that the temple builders made impossible to miss. [/q]

                    Oh, and:

[q=DRoseDARs]The star's light can't be it because if it were a matter of the light being just right, it'd happen at least once a year for the past 4000 years. That star is going to blow and I doubt the 13th Tribe would have made the key to finding Earth a death trap. You're right about the star being the marker: It's represented on the pillar and is the button he needs to frakkin' push instead of wasting everyone's time[/q]

                    You were saying?

                      Well, not directly, but... Tigh?

Yeah, that's my vote. Remember that that was the same 3 who tried to do a hit piece on Tigh when she was an infiltrator, and obviously they didn't treat him very well on New Caprica. It may also explain some of his, er, more questionable decisions. (Plus it would fit nicely into my theory about what's really going on with the whole "it's happened before and will happen again" predestination bit, but that's not exactly evidence unless I'm right.)

                          • It's possible it's Tigh, but that would mean that the Final 5 have a much longer history of existence, and may not have multiple copies.

Which then means that everybody who was ruled out before may now be suspect.

                            • Well, we keep hearing that the Final Five are special in some way, but it's not been elaborated as to what, exactly, that means.

Humans created Cylons. Cylons created better Cylons. Toasters didn't create the 12 human models we know about now, right? So who did? And what did they do with the five?

If his eye grows back, that might be a clue.
