    • Personally,
      Spoiler:
Kat's death scene kinda got a bit too over-the-top, in my opinion.

The rest of the episode was top-notch, though, and I liked the dangerous trial-by-solar-flare.

As far as this last one goes... I loved the look on Baltar's face when one of the Cavils decided to "improvise".

      And! And--
      Spoiler:
the nukes! The nukes! I can't wait until at least one of them is launched to make the "sky light up" or whatever the prophecy said.

        • They used Prelude to War near the end when the situation was escalating.

I hadn't thought about the nukes that way. I thought the supernova might be the light, and that they'd have to see what the supernova's light does and then FTL the heck out of there before they're fried.

That was my initial thought as well, since the prophecy did suggest that it would only reveal itself when there was a certain finality to it all.

            • they also superimposed the image of the eye in the temple with the star itself

Just how far away is that star? is it the star algea world orbits around? it might be far enough that the people in the temple(deep underground) may survive.

nukes no ones going to survive them.

              • What I don't get is why Tyrol doesn't just push the button in the middle of the eye on the pillar. In every movie and tv show that has a temple with ancient carvings, the secret is always pushing the button that the temple builders made impossible to miss.

                • Well done, writers! The tension in various subplots was ratcheting up, all coming to a head when ...

                  ... to be continued.

                  AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!

I was also wondering why the chief didn't get hands on.

                    Well, yes.

Except in every single episode until this point, I think it's been clear that Chief Tyrol is one of the dumbest, densest people on the ship. He's good at fixing things, but in figuring basic things out, he's a moron.

Seriously? With Gaeta and Jammer? Or with Cally? Good Lords of Kobol, give that idiot a fraking clue.

The gods are trying - they gave him the urge to go up the hill and into the cave to find the temple.

I guess they'll have to smack his head into the pillar, though.

The star is the system's star, so if the star goes, so does the temple and the planet.

I also think it might be the supernova itself that is the marker. And while the Chief may be dense, I really don't think there is a button to push. Perhaps the thing works when the sunlight hits that dial just right.

                        • Remember: The holographic map room was activated when Kara (someone else?) put the arrow in the statue's hand if i recall that episode correctly. Sticking with that logic, I'd imagine that since no one had to go on a wild goose chase for some damned artifact or another, then the key to activating this particular site is at the site and at hand. The star's light can't be it because if it were a matter of the light being just right, it'd happen at least once a year for the past 4000 years. That star is going to blow and I doubt the 13th Tribe would have made the key to finding Earth a death trap. You're right about the star being the marker: It's represented on the pillar and is the button he needs to frakkin' push instead of wasting everyone's time.
