  • The season premiere had lower ratings than last season, IIRC.

Also, SciFi Channel is moving BSG to Sundays at 22:00 in January, which seems like a horrible time slot, and that's the slot Farscape was moved to before it was cancelled.

Please don't do this to us.

    Also, Thanksgiving
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

    • I believe that it is getting lower ratings than previous (though whenever DVR recording is taken into account, it does tend to bump up a bit)

Remember, it will be moving to Sunday starting 21 January.

      • The ratings have been lower than expected for the first episodes, but have climbed back up after that, apparently. Moore sounded pretty convinced that there will be a fourth season.

The show's already overdue for an Emmy, though. Some episodes could have easily won best writing or best direction, and Olmos alone has had Emmy-level performances in several episodes.

        • Stupid moving it to Sundays... it always gets scary when a show starts moving timeslots (it usually bodes ill unless a show moves to... say, Thursdays on NBC, but for the love of God, don't move BSG to NBC ).

IIRC, the discussion with Adama and Lee brought up that Adama thought the Cylons, seeing the human cross the armistice line were planning an invasion of their own and scouting the Cylon defenses. So the wipe out of the humans was basically a preemptive strike. The 'caught human' over the line could have been the final straw to convince the others to finally go along with that plan.

After all, it'd make sense in the relation to real world events BSG seems to have going now (ie, the pitfals of preemptive wars this time).

Of course, there is the theory that perhaps the Admiralty was itching for a fight and wanted to provoke the Cylons... though they badly miscalculated the size of the Cylon fleet.
But wasn't there over a year's delay between that incident and the Cylon attack? If the Cylons were thinking purely defensively they would have had to conclude that since the Colonial attack did not come within a reasonable time of the incident that the incident wasn't really the harbinger of a Colonial offensive. Also, when did Six begin her mission to sabotage the Colonial fleet using Baltar as access? It seems to me such an operation must have been in the planning for a long time. Releasing Bulldog was just a way to get back at Adama. His guilt trip is unfounded because the Cylons must have begun planning the assault long before Bulldog's capture. They didn't even bother using it as an excuse at the time because the preparations weren't complete.

But ... Lee & Kara, boxing as foreplay? WTFrak?

Especially after she went and married another guy the morning after he declared his love for her back on New Caprica.

I was hoping, praying, that soemone would shout back "We know *******! Shut up! We're trying to sleep!" when Lee and Kara were shouting.

                            • When I watch BSG, usually after the opening I turn away from the TV (perhaps to play one more turn), or fast forward to the rest of the show. This time I didn't, and for the first time this season noticed the caption that says "41,420 Survivors."

Has this been the same all season? Or has it changed at all?

Kat did a stupid thing, switching dosage meters and staying out when that one turned black, too, but it was also gutsy, and she brought back the lost sheep. Went out as CAG.

So the fleet doesn't have tinted face shields? Or any sort of darkening canopies?

                              • They show the survivor count each episode, though they left it out of the first few S3 episodes (the New Caprica ones). And yeah, it changes.
