  • I remember reading that the creators didn't want to mention specs on the ships or anything because they knew that, if they did, these sorts of discussions would ensue

thats right it would take more then 12 thousand tons to vaporize a 32 thousand ton warship. the ship simply wouldn't survive that impacting against its hull though.

As stated above, a Battlestar is obviously far larger, and more heavily armored, with smoehting more than just steel.

The reason for my comparioson is to simply state that an obviously better armored vessel will be able to survive damage a vessel with inferior armor will not.

        • As I said, unobtainium because while that 12kT nuke won't vaporize an entire battleship, it will take a chunk out of it.

I called it! I called it!

Apparently Lee's wearing Major's insignia now too. A good theory I read is that Lee's Commander rank was actually a brevet rank, which has now been revoked since there's no Battlestar CO post to fill. Now he's back as CAG and a Major.

Anyway, he got slim way too quickly, but I didn't let it ruin another great episode.

                  • Yeah, it's amazing how fast one loses weight when one takes off the fat suit. At least they treated us (well, the females and gay men of the audience) to another wonderful scene of Jamie Bamber shirtless.
The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

                            • I do like that most of the other pilots and crew have (apperently) buried the hatchet over Mrs. Agathon being a Cylon. Just the casual way they were throwing out callsigns("Chromedome! Microchip Girl!") in a ribbing kinda way instead of avoiding her like the plague.

                              • I guess with most people, the real problem was not that she was a Cylon per se, but that they couldn't trust Sharon. The entire crew now knows that she helped rescue the colonists, that she has provided very real and valuable help. Besides, the Admiral trusts her - and I bet a lot of people in the fleet are willing to, in turn, trust his judgement. Oh, and it's been nearly two years since Sharon arrived on board as a prisoner, so everyone has had plenty of time to get used to it.
