I also sort of like destroying the Pegasus. You can't have the protagonists pull off stunts like this without a sacrifice. Pegasus was the sacrifice this time. I wonder what they'll do with all the naval officers now, although if Galactica was on a skeleton crew, they'll probably fit all in. Lee's a Commander without a ship now, though.
And I too was certainly getting an homage vibe out of Baltar ending up with the Cylons (although that was the natural thing to happen, with the Colonials he'd be out the airlock right away) and the Pegasus getting destroyed. I expected them to lose the Pegasus in Resurrection Ship, and then in Lay Down Your Burdens, but it took them this long and I didn't even expect it this time.
I did expect Lee to come to the rescue, but losing Pegasus was a kick in the gut. Gotta love those bagpipes.
I think there are only about 20k to 30k humans left, 40k tops. I hope we'll see the whiteboard back and maybe even the count in the intro.
Oh yeah, and despite overwhelming evidence and rules of logic, when Gaeta pulled that gun, I was waiting for him to shoot Baltar only for us to see him download.
