Civ2 got me here-- I remember being so awed that people could 'actually beat Deity" . . . but I quickly moved to Smax and thats where I remain. I did buy CIV3 but only played it a few times and did not like it. I have not bought CIV4
I still play Smax constantly and I will occasionally fire up CIV2You don't get to 300 losses without being a pretty exceptional goaltender.-- Ben Kenobi speaking of Roberto Luongo

I no longer remember...so long ago it was...Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Civ2
Lurked for awhile, then started playing the demo and sxn games.
When they kind of died off with Civ3's release I drifted into the Off Topic and gradually got used to it.
I'm not sure about the Civ2 -Poly OT and Civ3 MZO OT split as two individual communities, when I came here Civ3 had already been out but no one was really playing it much.
As for Poly deteriorating, I wouldn't think so. Summers are usually very slow and things tend to pick up in September.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.
