At least it was a good match
Germany scores as many goals in the last ten minutes as the dutch, but they do score twice as many in the last five minutes as you guys.

2) Both those yellow cards were quite justified, nothing the ref could've done differently.
1) I know, I was kidding
2) Nonsense, the second did not deserve a yellow card. In fact, given that some of the minor German antics were not penalized at all I dont think it was any more deserving than some of those.
BTW, I dont really care who won the game but I do think the ref was penalizing the Polish players more heavily and more regularly for similar fouls. Hell, the american commentator actually commended one German defender for his 'professional foul' (which was yellow carded).

The ref in the Ukraine/Spain game was worse, but at least the outcome was never in doubt.
Only *because* of the referee. If he hadn't ruled every Ukranian attack offside in the first half it could've been 2-2 at half time and the penalty would never have been given so it would've been a very, very different match...

How many Dutch goals were decisive and how many German ones?
The Dutch have a tendency to win with 2-5 goals difference fairly often, the Germans usually with only 1.

It was a foul by the book. It's not always penalised but that doesn't mean it's not a foul, and the referees have been instructed to be strict. More players have been penalised for similar fouls and three Germans got yellow cards for relatively minor issues as well (Polish got 4 cards so the distribution was fairly even). Refereeing is strict but has been since match 1, so that shouldn't surprise anyone. In this case I don't think it was particularly biased against either team, and I'm pretty strongly anti-German myself. It was a stupid foul Sobolewski shouldn't have made and he knew it the minute he did...
Sobolewski made a stupid foul fully deserving a yellow. He stopped a potentially dangerous attack from developing, by bringing down a player on purpose. Certainly a yellow by the rules.

Sorry, but I disagree. It was stupid of Sobolewski to conatct him given that the ref had already given him a yellow but from where I was sitting, the German dove. There was no way it deserved a yellow, unless one was given to the German player.
So far I've seen refs lots of lip service that diving will be penalized but havent seen anyone carded yet. I have seen many bad calls on offsides, and fouls and cardings for minor contact that only slows the flow of the game.
