The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness: only power, pure power.

Honestly? I don't see much difference between them and Ken Lay, et. al. Indeed, much as how Fascism and Socialism are the same...
Stalin, Saddam, that Adelphia head, and Ken Lay are as well. The only difference is, say, the method by which they manipulated the less fortunate to gain personal power (in the form of wealth).
Indeed, one could argue that a society that is based on individualism must also, in some form, tacitly condone greed--greed for power in any form.
Kinda heartless, don't you think?
Fascism and Socialism are both anathema's to the free enterpriser. The former fix(ed) wages, prices and control companies through their boards. The latter is essentially the same as fascism. It varies only in methods and degree.
Of course individuals are greedy. But, without government power to back them up, clash of greedy individuals creates competition. This is why free enterprise produces so much.
Ken Lay and his cronies are a good example of the potentiality for abuse in a free society. But when they do, they go to jail. That is what we call "the rule of law."

Let's just say that if there is a political axis based on freedom, where the more free one is the more one moves to the right, then what I say about fascism and socialism being to the left is true.
But then you'd be a leftist and I'd be a rightist. Changing definitions doesn't change reality.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Commies, on the other hand, are perhaps the most heartless bastards that ever lived in that they manipulate the less fortunate to gain power for themselves. Liars all.
**** you!

Name one who does not speak in terms of class warfare. Just one.
Talking in terms of class warfare doesn't make you a Marxist. You have to agree with the concept of dialetical materialism (Marx's theory of history) as well to be a Marxist.

Oh, well. Let's split these leftist hairs, shall we?
All I have to do is refer you to the Communist Manifesto. The majority of that text still informs the basic policies of today's left.
Class warfare is fundamental to leftist thinking today. This thinking defines disparities of wealth in society as fundamentally unfair and fuels hatred of the wealthy. Deny this if you can, but it is true.
If capitalist liberals are said to be different than communist Marxists, it is 'split[ing]... leftist hairs'
