That is a pretty hard case to prove. You need more than stats buddy.

And your statistics prove nothing. You are just making an interpretation based on statistics. You know what else one can interpret from those stats? That the death penalty is unfairly applied towards poor people... or men... or Christians!!!

The fact is, socio-economic conditions have much more of a factor in whether or not someone receives the Death Penalty.

Yes, the justice system has flaws and needs reform. Yes, innocent people have been sentenced to death before.

Most of the complaints involving the death penalty are decades old. DNA evidence has revolutionized the criminal justice system and fewer innocent people are being convicted due to the certainty that DNA evidence provides.

And all of this is irrelevant to the Williams case.

Williams is guilty. He murdered four people.

I ask you why he should not be put to death?

Give me a RELEVANT reason.

Yes systems can be racist, that's common knowledge

You know like slavery, Jim Crow laws,etc

Which are directly responsible for the exact socio-economic conditions you are talking about


What's interesting is that several high profile studies by: the General Accounting Office, Attorney General of the United States, Cornell University, NAACP, have all come to the conclusion that the system is racist.

The "gradfather clause," for instance, never mentioned black people - it just said that in order to vote, your grandfather must have been able to vote, which effectively kept out blacks. Thus I have also handily rejected your idea that a system must be explicitly racist if it is a racist system.

80% of the cases submitted by federal prosecutors for death penalty review in the past five years have involved racial minorities as defendants. In more than half of those cases, the defendant was African-American.

I only posted to correct your notion of there being no such thing as a racist system. My work is done. For my purposes, I've already won.
