The problem is the riots spill into my city as well. As many LA gangs also reside in my city. We did have an entire shopping center get burned down during the Rodney King riots.

The Death Penalty is:


1) Hypocricy
2) Not a deterrent
3) Unjust
4) Unchristian

It's like telling other people to not have nuclear weapons but then go out and make a bunch of them.

For crimes such as the ones Stanley Williams was convicted of, the death penalty is entirely just and fitting.

Whether or not it is also a deterrent to others is

1) Very, very hard to determine with any reasonable degree of certainty

2) Not all that important

But one thing is certain, it effectively prevents recidivism among the people subjected to it.

In a perfect world you can always execute the bad guys with 100% accurate.
