I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Texas is winning now. Same story as last year.
So I was wrong about Nebraska.
But I was right about Florida. And Virginia Tech. And justthisclose to being right about Stanford."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

#1 Texas
#2 USC
#3 Virginia Tech
#4 Notre Dame (+1)
#5 Alabama (+1)
#6 Miami (+1)
#7 Georgia (-3)
#8 UCLA
#9 LSU
#10 Penn State
Texas gets a mulligan this week for recovering in impressive fashion, the first time all year they've had to do it. (USC, on the other hand, has had to do it a number of times, which is why Texas is #1 and USC is #2.)
Georgia actually impressed me today. I figured that the game would be a blowout without Shockley but after the quick start by Florida, the Bulldogs dominated them defensively and had a shot to win at the end. Hence why they only drop a few spots and not out of the poll completely. (They should be #8, but UCLA should not have needed overtime against Stanford.)CGN | a bunch of incoherent nonsense

WOW WOW WOW!
I watched the 4th Q and OT of the UCLA v. Stanford game. UCLA IS the most explosive team in college football (bar none). 3 TDs in less than 7 minutes to tie the game and then a TD in OT. Amazing! If they can just get motived for the first 3 Q of the game!“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
