That would fall under the genetics VS environmental factor.

    • -But does that mean I am always at advantage over down sydrome patients no matter what kind of enviorrnment I am given?
intelligence wise, you'll always be more intelligent. A better person? well, that's a whole new thread.

The last part of your post, Calc , I didn't follow at all.

      • That's not where I took the quote from.
It's likely that the statistics came from the Bell Curve given that it's menioned in the web page. If not the Bell Curve, I'm sure somewhere equally dubious.

        • Ramo: If you're having a debate, we have to be careful not to dismiss things. Otherwise, it's too easy for him to say: "hey, they don't use my links, well **** them"

Calc: I know, but it is important to differentiate between the economic and the cultural factor.

perhaps quoting my statement would be helpful? after all i edited my comment and the last part is no longer the last part anymore so i have no idea which you are reffering to. (old last or new last? )

            • It's not evidence that Cali brought up. It's a bunch of racist blowhards making asses of themselves. They don't have anything to back them up except for degrees that could be in nearly anything (related to intelligence, WTH does that mean?).

              • I agree. but if you want Caligastia to agree you have to explain him why.

                  • What do I need to explain? It's self-evident from reading the web site and particularly the association with the Bell Curve.

You've stated in an earlier post that you believe 'god' created 'races'.

When were you vouchsafed this knowledge? And in what form? Was it in a spreadsheet showing genetic drift, perhaps, or a set of stone tablets from Fox's glacier?

There's nothing self-righteous about my comment- I have to rely on scientific enquiry rather than oracular gifts- and the discussion will never go anywhere if you rely on divine friends to bolster your arguments.

                        • Couple points here Molly.

Can he cite the Bible as a source?

If so, I'm interested as well to see which passages he cites. I would think the table of the nations in Genesis would be a likely response, as would be the tower of babel.

If you don't accept this source, then you need to explain why and what makes the bible more or less trustworthy for knowledge about God.

                          • If the Bible is used as a source too then I can use Star Wars to prove there is life in other planets.

Come on, how can one cite the Bible for a scientific fact when 70% of the world including myself does not believe a word in it?

I'm simply not naive or foolish enough to believe the first thing that people say, no matter if they are Ph.Ds and considereing how many scientific theories have been discredited throughout history. I actually read a study a few months ago that using computers had nothing to do with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome after years and years of studies proving otherwise.

As I explained to Molly, cultural bias does not account for the disparity between black and white IQs because in tests that were intentionally created with cultural bias, the disparity was less than when non-culturally biased tests were used.
And as I said earlier, you cannot statisticaly control for all environmental variables which come into play unless you start the experiment right out of the test tube.

They have, and if I really thought it would change your mind, I would find the results for you. If there is not a 100% unanimous consensus then it's not good enough for you.
80%-90% would be fine. There will always be those who contradict everything (and who knows, they might be right).
