  • Tubes: true, but usually the military helps out when they relocate people. I'm not too worried 'bout them...

Kid: No...the house is MINE. If they want to own one, they can go buy one. mine is not for sale.

I paid for the house. I sweated for the house. My labor. My house. They don't get my labor for free.

    That would be exploitation.

Ah, so someone with bad credit doesn't even have the right to rent? What a bastard you are!

Maybe only another speculator could afford it.

Maybe no one is willing to pay the price Vel is charging.

It's called responsibility. They have the right to rent, but Vel has the right to protect his investment to.

            • Kid, it's my house!

That'd be like saying: What?!@ You didn't invite Jeffry Dhamer over for dinner?! He's hungry too, you know! He doesn't have the right to eat dinner with you and your family? What a bastard you are!

              Oh the humanity!

Yes. My house. I get to make decisions about who I rent to. Preferably someone who's not gonna trash the place and undo all my hard work.

If that makes me a bastard, then so be it.

Not to say that all people with bad credit are that way, but in my experience, it's a fair indication. At that point, it's a judgement call. Go with the gut.

Then Vel will sell for less.

                  • How do YOU know why I own the house?

Are you doing that funky ESP thing again?

I own the house because I thought I'd be good at prop. management, and so far, I'm happy to report that I was correct.

I also own the house and put a lot of WORK in the house in order to get something back for it.

Keep the full fruits of your labor, remember?

That means I deserve compensation for:
                    1) Assuming the risk that others either can't, or don't want (mortgage)
                    2) Parts, materials, and time spent making the place livable
                    3) Ongoing maintenance and associated paperwork
                    4) Use of my facilities

Anything less and they'd be exploiting me. This is, per your own definition, by the way.

And you bought it for the purpose of exploiting people, and some poor soul out there can't even find a place to rent. Wow! You're a real decent guy.

Then you don't believe in supply and demand then. However I know you do. Come on Kuci. Give me a break.

                        • The place wasn't LIVABLE when I bought it.

It required that someone buy it who had the time and spare money to MAKE repairs to MAKE it livable.

So you're saying I don't deserve compensation for that?

Nor for the risk of floating the mortgage on it so I could MAKE those repairs?

Which means it'd sit empty, or someone might have bought it who could barely afford it, then they'd have no AC, a bad paint job, lousy carpets, and a leaky roof and windows, with no money to repair those things.

What a swell guy you are.

                          • I really knew I shouldn't have opened this thread.

                            I have packing to do.

Going to the Capitalist Utopia of Hawaii tomorrow and I haven't started packing yet.

                            • It cost a certain amount of money. Vel paid that amount. Others couldn't. To blame him for this is like saying that "you shouldn't buy toys, because otherwise poor people could afford them".
