By the way, nobody here mentioned that Yushchenko already declared himself the president, even before the electoral comission announced the final result. He swore on the Bible in the parlament. What do you think of it? Apart from being a coup d'etat, for which Yushchenko should be put to jail, this was simply a stupid move. The democratic West did not comdemn this coup, no wonder.

What is being implemented by the West is the classical algorithm of demonization, the target of which is now the Ukrainian election and the current Ukrainian government. It could be a giant conspiracy against Russia or it could simply be that people are calling the elections rigged because they were, in fact, rigged.

Generally, if there are two options the less complicated one is the correct anwser. I find the politics of this interesting. It is said that Yanukovych is center-right. It is also said that he is backed by the Communists. Clearly, he is a totalitarian given the use of the government to rig the election and control the press. This is consistent with Communism, not with being a right-winger.

Then we have the fact that Yanukovych favors a slow withdrawal from Iraq while his opponent Yushchenko favors immediate withdrawal. He seems more pro-US than Yushchenko, yet it is Yushchenko that is labeled pro-West. I assume this means pro-France.

Next we see that the Socialists are backing Yushchenko. Clearly Yushchenko is not a righty at all. He appears to be a radical leftist.

There seem to be no right-wing candidates in the election. We have a Communist vs. a Socialist as I see it. No matter who wins, the US loses. One is no friend of democracy. The other is no friend of the US.

we are wasting our time here. They may whine as long as they wish. It will not change the outcome. The Electoral commision officially declared Yanukovich as the victor of election. The game is over. They are losers. Whining loosers.
