how do you win on tv and in print if your candidate looks like he's going to keel over any minute while the other guy looks young and fit?
You gonna say Kohl keels over?

Clinton was made fun of for his weight though

            Vilsack:

Welcome to the website for Governor Kim Reynolds, an official State of Iowa website.

yeah but he worked at it. Even injured his knee while running . And I think he was fairly thin in 1992. Then I think he put on some weight, then lost it. And then put some weight on Monica Lewinsky's dress.

Yeah, but both he and Cheney don't have wrinkled and blocky skin like a certain governor of New Mexico.

Why the hell not? Latvia's president is a woman and she 0wnZ. Lots of others around these days. The South can't keep its head up its ass forever.

You don't see the difference between Latvia and the U.S.?

It could happen if both parties put up a woman candidate at the same time. But I don't think the primary timing will ever allow that. One party will flinch and chicken out, thus forcing the other party not to put their woman candidate up for presidency.

I figure it will be at least another 20 years before we see a female president.

Vilsack would at least give us a red state. A Floridian would, Georgian, or similiar large southern state (other then Texas) would be more desirable.

Vilsack's speeches about adoption would go over well with the moral values voters.

But let's get serious: you'll get creamed. People hate you, Hil, and you're not going to change that. Not me, particularly; I don't think you're any worse than most politicians, and a fair bit better than some. But outside the charmed circles of liberals with elite educations like you and me, you really are despised. So be a good senator from New York; be Attorney General if the Dems ever win. But don't run; the party can't afford it.
I know it. You're going to say I'm crazy. But I have just not seen any of the supposed massive hatred for Hillary Clinton. In fact, I've had people bring her up and say they would vote for her (these were Bush voters saying this.) I am going to go against all of you and say Hillary Clinton does indeed have considerable support.
To my fellow Democrats, in the short term: Give up on the South. If I see one more of you pining for a "charismatic Southern moderate like Clinton," I'm gonna lose it. When is it going to sink in? There aren't any left. But there are popular Democratic governors in Arizona and Iowa, and popular Democratic senators in Iowa and Nevada. West, not South. Got it?
The next Presidential candidate doesn't have to be Southern, but the Democrats are nowhere near losing the South like the Republicans had lost it (never had it) before the switch, or even 1/100th as bad.

However, there's no requirement that the next President be a "charismatic Southern moderate." Agreed.
