They probably won't lie about count totals though . Although they were one of the networks that called Florida early last time .

It slightly amazes me how common things like voter suppression, maliscious misinformation, false registrations etc seem to be, by both sides to be fair, though the Republicans attempting to limit the african-american vote is particularly nasty as it is targetted at a specific racial minority. Not a shining beacon to the world really, and it won't get any better once the lawyers start challenging people's votes.

What is so difficult about a system as is common in most European systems where you get automatically registered when you move into a house/flat etc.?

On a positive note judges in Ohio have ruled that the Republican tactic of placing people at polling stations and demanding to see proof their registration is valid was ruled illegal. The court said that there were already a number of measures in place to combat voter fraud and that the presence of numerous partisan people at polling stations who were inexperienced in the polling process would disrupt the election process.

Not to mention it is a federal violation to harass people while they are attempting to vote.

              More Republican fraud

Here is a voicemail that the Republicans are leaving for Michigan voters.

In a recording of a phone call played for The Associated Press, a young woman says: "When you vote this Tuesday remember to legalize gay marriage by supporting John Kerry. We need John Kerry in order to make gay marriage legal for our city. Gay marriage is a right we all want. It's a basic Democrat principle. It's time to move forward and be progressive. Without John Kerry, George Bush will stop gay marriage. That's why we need Kerry. So Tuesday, stand up for gay marriage by supporting John Kerry."

I have to agree with the Onion here:

You might think it's funny, but it's disrespectful to submit write-in candidates like "Don Knotts," "Mickey Mouse," or "Michael Badnarik."

                    Bush will win, sadly.

                    Hope I'm wrong.

It's not that common. Both sides are using reports of it as a weapon in the campaigns.

They would have been just as far ahead by recording the HRC folks and playing it back. Would have said the same thing.

The Republicans are trying to supress African-American votes in Philly by telling them that they cant vote if they got a traffic ticket or if they had voted in another election this year. In the mean-time the republicans are greatly exaggerating the amount of people rising from the grave to vote democrat.

When are there enough examples to make it a nationwide phenomenon? I want to know for when someone says "that's just an isolated example." Someone ought to make a list of all these occurrances, because I'm hearing about them too frequently to have just been "isolated."
