I'd like for someone to make a thread asking Markos and Dan if they would let us talk in french without having to translate it and for all those that would like that to post in that thread.

    • Although that is it trie that French has some difficulties, compared to English, the pronouciation is much easier if you have the written form...
In English , the same letter or group of letters is very often pronouced different ways , and you just have to know...
"th" and most voyells as someone said earlier..

Maybe we should ask to stop transating it's really tiresome.

They are too afraid. Isn't french the best laguage for insults or using garbage (lit. transl.) words?
What about farting in their general direction?

Yes I also thought that might be a reason why they want everything translated

Propose Spiffor as moderator/supervisor of the french threads. If he agrees, I think they could trust him enough.

I don't think anyone will behave like an idiot here.... after all this thread is for learning french... but if this would solve the situation then why not?

In fact it is the whole 'I feel like' that can be translate by 'Je me sens'.
So you do not need the 'comme'.
'I feel like an idiot', would better be translated by 'Je me sens idiot'.
But to really mock yourself, you could probably use the negative form to express the positive meaning (I forgot how this is called).
                J'ai pas l'air idiot. or more likely J'ai pas l'air c.. (I don't look like an idiot)

(English has 43 or 44 sounds represented by 26 letters, and so is especially difficult to pronounce given the written form. French has no such burdens.)

yes Ben I agree. But I think (not only me) it would be beneficial if we asked them to be changed
