    Make Bush pause?
Are the moderates more likely to stick with Bush than the so-called Christian coalition? Ponder that for awhile.

If enough people make the statement, then yes, he is going to listen to you.

well, i'm moderate, and i already know i can't support bush this coming election.

i can't stand anybody else, but bush has spent my future on his stupid attempt to buy the elderly vote.

No. Didn't even have to ponder it a while .

If enough people make the statement, then yes, he is going to listen to you.

The problem is that he won't. He knows they'll vote for him in the end (or he thinks they will). Bush has shown a HUGE predilection for refusing to listen to people who disagree with him.

I believe he voted for it in '94 and hasn't said he wants to repeal it. In fact, Kucinich hammed the major primary opponents for ALL being for NAFTA.
He may have voted for NAFTA then, but he supports tariffs in a heartbeat to preserve American jobs.

You're not a republican moderate for the last time. At best you are a democrat moderate.

At any rate, I was just joking about that comparsion. Geez, lighten up boy.

Ah hell folks, moderate and conservative are just titles people like to throw out. There are some fundamental ideals that we subscribe to and I think we should recognize those before we start back biting eachother.

From what I've seen the only tariffs he backs is if our trading partners violate their obligations under the treaty for labor and environmental standards... then the tariffs come back up. Kind of like a breach of contract. I'm not too fond of it, but I can see his point.

                      fez, that's not good enough.

what makes you a moderate republican, as opposed to a strongly conservative republican, which your rhetoric rather clearly suggests?

In that case, you must recognize me as a moderate Republican. Hell, I've been affiliated with the Republican Party much longer than you have and have held more leadership roles within it .

I'd ask why you're a Republican in the first place?

Campaign Finance Reform? Bush signed that into law, although Democrats are now finding ways to flout it through sites like moven.org

Balanced budgets? Bush did go overboard, but he is recently putting forward a plan to slash the deficit. They recently did an analysis of Kerry's plans and his proposed expenditures overcost the amount of his propred tax increases by around $200 bil.

Kerry has also never been a proponent of balanced budgets and has opposed them many time throughout his career.

"And Kerry with a Republican Congress ensures nothing gets done = bliss. "

And what if he gets a Democratic Congress sometime during his presidency. Sure, it isn't likely to happen in 2004, but it could happen later in his career.

"I HATE that he totally stuck a middle finger to the world. I mean do you think France and Russia were interested in fighting Iraq in 1991? NO, of course not! But Bush, the elder, was a good diplomat. He got them to go along with it. "

So you are blaming America first and George W. Bush for France's obstinancy?

Colin Powell and his team did make every effort to reconcile them, but France would not budge. 1991 was a different situation, the war was easier to support as Iraq had invaded another country.

Check out Kerry's record if you need to Imran. He has for his entire career been on the far left and opposed nearly every traditional Republican value. Kerry opposed Reagan, and he opposed GHWB in Gulf War I. I don't see why anybody who calls themself a Republican of any flavor would be inclined to support Kerry.

Environmental standards? Sounds like a neat way to raise tariffs to protect american jobs.

Why do you think he hammers Bush so much for lifting the steel tariffs?

You want the watered down version?

Iraq War - I am for it

                              Bush Tax Cuts - For

What does that make me? Moderate.
