  • The love is an 'idea of love'- presumably one he doesn't feel obligated to put into practice, at least with regards atheists and queers.

Nah. I gotta love everybody. Even you molly.

I can't include lesbians, because he seems to have a blind spot about them, and real life women in general.

    Real women?

giving scathing remarks to bishops about jejune mitre patterns
    That's almost funny Molly.

Perhaps he's so used to the way religions work, he can't think outside the religionista box....
Been outside. I see no reason to return there.

    • Ben,
I'm sure you've stated this somewhere, but my question is are christians the only getting into heaven? What about muslims and jews.

What about people like me who believe in god but question the bible.
What can make a nigga wanna fight a whole night club/Figure that he ought to maybe be a pimp simply 'cause he don't like love/What can make a nigga wanna achy, break all rules/In a book when it took a lot to get you hooked up to this volume/
What can make a nigga wanna loose all faith in/Anything that he can't feel through his chest wit sensation

      • PA:

I don't mind answering your question at all.

but my question is are christians the only getting into heaven? What about muslims and jews.
I'm reading from Luke, chapter 18, and I come to this passage: Lk 18:27

"What is impossible with men is possible with God."

It is only through God, can any man be saved, and not through our own deeds. He offers the gift to everyone who believes and trusts in him.

People who have not heard of Christ, God will take mercy on them, and save those whom he desires to save.

Those who have heard of Christ must acknowledge Christ as the Son of God.

Jews and Muslims both, reject Christ in different ways. Both may call him a good teacher, but again, I go back to Luke again,

For no one is Good, but God.

        • So you are saying I don't have to accept the bible as being true to get into heaven.

          • Why exactly do jews and muslims have to accept JC as the son of god. We all are children of god right?

If you have heard of Christ, then you need to believe in Christ in order to be saved. To know that Christ is the Son of God, you need to read Scripture, so yes, you do need to believe that the Gospels give an accurate account of Christ.

Why exactly do jews and muslims have to accept JC as the son of god
In rejecting the messenger, they reject the one who sent him. This is why Christ talks of the faith of the Centurion, in understanding the true relationship between Christ, and God the Father.

                • Christianity (and many religions in fact) seem awfully unfair. A couple of billion get to go to Heaven because they're brought up to have Christian faith, but happen to live in Saudi Arabia, and your chances of being able to reject the faith you're brought up with to accept Christ are slim to none. True, everyone who hears of Jesus may have the same chance to accept him and enter Heaven, but it's a bit of a lottery isn't it?!

Good to see no more attacks against the organised atheist menace though

                  • Ah! The poor reviews keep pouring in even as the Passion officially is now the No. 1 movie of all time for a Wednesday opening. It has officially passed the movie that swept the Oscars, the LotR: TRotK.

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- After opening with an astonishing $125.2 million over five days, Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" is positioned to get even bigger as the Lenten Season leads up to Easter on April 11.

The box-office total announced Monday by distributor Newmarket Films pushed "The Passion" past "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" ($124.1 million) for biggest debut ever by a film opening on a Wednesday -- Ash Wednesday, in this case.

The total was almost $8 million more than Newmarket first estimated, because far more people turned out Sunday to see Gibson's grisly crucifixion recreation than originally predicted.

The emphasis was supplied to see just how much the liberal media hates this movie and hates Gibson.

It is a grizly crucifiction recreation, is it not? The fact that conservative Christians love it does not change that obvious fact-just ask Mel, a grisly crucifiction recreation is just what he wanted to make.

And so can one about you-= but you fail to answer the point- The Passion is a recreation of the crucifixtion? Yes. Does it show grily violence? Yes. So, it is a grisly crucifixtion recreation.
