You didn't put a smily, so he was within his Poly rights.

Commies are not entitled to any Poly rights.

        I'm the thread starter.

Got any substantive opinions on Nader, boys?

Ain't gonna matter. Remember, the Republicans have more party discipline. They'll come out for Bush.
Oh, I don't think you can necessarily count on that this time around. The Dems are far more unified in their base and opposition to Bush this time around, and the religious conservatives are grumbling a LOT about Bush. A highly-visible run by Moore would likely attract many evangelicals, and this could tip the balance in a close state like Florida.

President Bush left several million evangelical voters “on the table” four years ago and again is having trouble energizing Christian conservatives, prominent leaders on the religious right say.

              Nader is running.

              Ultimately, didn't make a difference in 2000, won't make a difference in 2004.

The same is true of Moore.

I think I will go undercover and found an evangelical Christian party to break the back of the Republicans. Who knows, these people are such suckers I might even be able to get rich doing it too.

In other news, Randal Terry has moved to Jacksonville.

Well, if you like the man and his policies so much, why don't you vote for him yourself?

Huh? Who said anything about liking him or his policies? See, I'm hoping he draws Republican votes away from Bush.

Of course I can count on it . In the end, Bush will tell the Christian Right that if you don't vote for him, Kerry will win and will allow abortions on demand and fund condomn give-aways at schools, etc. Christian Right isn't as ideological pure as the Commies. They'll sell out for a piece of the pie.

                          Not necessarily.

                          As for Boris,

I get such a laugh to hear you praise an evangelical who is running for president.

                              • Good article on Nader's prospects. Most interesting part:

Those in the Bush White House and its echo chambers on right-wing talk radio and the Fox television network, who have been delighting in the prospect of a Nader run, may not be laughing for long. Judge Roy Moore, the Alabama jurist whose fight to display the Ten Commandments on state property drew national attention last year, is being courted by the right-wing Constitution Party as a potential presidential candidate. (The Constitution Party was on the ballot in 41 states in 2000, and retains a solid network of activist supporters nationwide.) With growing numbers of core conservatives angered by Bush's policies on immigration, federal spending and individual liberties, a Moore candidacy could develop into a serious problem for the president. More than 20 percent of the voters in January's New Hampshire Republican primary cast ballots for someone other than Bush; more than 10 percent of Oklahoma Republican primary voters did the same. Come November, Moore could pose a greater threat to Republican prospects than Nader will to the Democrats.
