Hmmm….actually, my perception of Mormonism was improved by the article.
The only thing I previously knew about the Mormons were polygamy and caffeine restriction and what I learned from..um..a South Park episode about the church. The gold plate and decoder ring and other Joseph Smith history seem bizarre but Christianity is filled with that kind of stuff. The racism issue was bad but racism was also a big problem even in the Bible Belt.
For the most part, the rest of the stuff was an improvement over other denominations:
* The focus on good works
* The rejection of original sin
* Rejection of infallibility (a biggie)Comment
