  • You shall have no other gods before me I dont believe in any, so I cant hold them before you.
You shall not make for yourself any idol As above.
You shall not take the name of God in vain Maybe I have a few times....but i can think of much more interesting things to say when pissed off
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy With the amount of coursework I have???? 'sorry i've done no work, i was striving to keep the 4th commandment' yeah, right.
Honour your father and your mother They dont deserve it. Do they honour me? No.
You shall not murder Not literally. If wanting to kill someone is the same thing then i am a serial killer.
You shall not commit adultery Not married, so i couldnt. Ive slept with married people, but they were the ones committing a sin, surely?
You shall not steal Who hasn't?
    You shall not lie Ditto
You shall not covet Of course I have! Im female, i always want what i dont/cant have.

Oh well, looks like im going to hell. At least its warmer there
Desperados of the world, unite. You have nothing to lose but your dignity.......

Idiot. You don't even know what the red letters are. The red letters of the Bible are there to distinguish Jesus's own words from the rest of the Bible.

The courage of many people will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth, because the stability of the very heavens will be broken up. Then everyone will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand straight and look up, for your salvation is near!" --Luke 21:25-28
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. • Get on with it!

Here is something to help clear up some misconceptions found in this thread:

Anyone who thinks that the entire Bible should be interpreted literally is mistaken. Some of it actually is metaphorical. Some of it is symbolic. And some of it just simply makes some good points. The key to finding the true meaning of scripture found in the Bible is the gift of wisdom, and wisdom comes only from God.

Anyone who thinks that you have believe that the creation story happened a certain way or that Noah's flood happened a certain way to get into heaven is mistaken. This and other brain boggling "scientific" stuff found in the Bible has absolutely nothing to do with faith. As long you believe that God had a hand in all of it you are just fine.

One does not receive their salvation by following the law [of God]. One receives salvation by praying that Christ forgives them for their sins and comes into their heart (and meaning it). Remember, in the end God ultimately looks at a person's heart when determining wether or not they have recieved their salvation. Following the law is just a way of helping to purify the heart, but this does not mean that someone who is in their last moment of life can ask for salvation and not receive it. To clarify, take a look at these links:

          link

          link

As you can plainly see, both are links (posted by yours truly) to the exact same poll found in this thread, except that one is a little different because there are 6 options at maximum allowed in the poll. Both are posted on Christian websites with an all Christian or mostly Christian populous. As you can also plainly see that the people who voted on these polls only did a little better overall than the mostly atheist/agnostic populous here at the Apolyton OTF (Apolyton is at a very dissapointing 1 checkmark per voter at last check). This clarifies that though Christians are Christian we are all still human and we all still make mistakes; we all commit sin when we don't intend to and/or just don't realize what were doing. We all fall short of the glory of God. And if Christ hadn't come to this earth to take our punishment and save us from our sins, every human being that ever lived would go hell in the end.

And about hell. Many people don't want to believe that there is a hell. Many people don't want to believe in a God that would throw the unjust into eternal torture in the afterlife. Many think that such a God would be a ruthless God that wants nothing but vengeance in the end. But think about it. Hundreds of countries in this world have Criminal Justice Systems, where people are tried for their crimes and those found guilty are punished and the innocent go free. In much the same way, God has his own Justice System:

          From bible.gospelcom.net

          Revelation 20

          The Dead Are Judged

11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done (elaborated on in Psalm 62:12, Jeremiah 17:10, Romans 2:6, 1 Peter 1:17) as recorded in the books. 13The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Remember, good works help to purify the heart and God will ultimately judge each man (and woman) by what is in their heart. But a man does not enter the Kingdom of Heaven by good works alone, but by becoming a believer and accepting Christ's fogiveness, mercy and grace.

And for those of you that think that being thrown into a "mythical lake of fire" for eternity is barbaric, I just so happen to agree with you on that. Rather, I do believe that this is one the many examples of highly metaphorical and symbolic scripture found in the Bible. I personally accept the interpretation that Hell is a place of eternal isolation and separation from God.

Many Non-christians find that living in sin and wickedness is fun and entertaining, that this is the ideal lifestyle for anyone. They think, "How could I just abandon this lifestly? It's so !" But the truth is, if you continue to live this way someday you will reach point in your life when you will regret it; you will break down and wish that you had lived very differently. When living a non-Christian lifestyle, sure you may have some successes and some victories, but the truth is that ultimately one day it will all fall back on you. Or worse, you may die before receiving your salvation and spend an eternity in hell.

So don't delay! For anyone wanting to become a Christian right now at this very moment I can point you in the right direction: Just click here. The rest is self explanatory. Don't wait for this! This is the most important decision of your life! Your life and your afterlife depends on it! Go on. It's time you broke out of your "prison" of sin and wickedness!

That pretty much agrees with other studies I (vaguely) recall that concluded that the behaviors of the religious varied little or none from non-believers. I find that baffling. You would think that all the church going, Sunday school attending, praying, and Bible reading would make a difference but it apparently doesn’t.

Though a true saint would never intentionally sin. Christians are suppose to make a serious effort to obey the law of God. God blesses those Christians who make such an effort. Sometimes we still make mistakes, though, because of our human nature.

there have been periods of my life when I kept 8-10 of the commandments

I fully expect this next year to be better

Well, the real hypocrites are those who say they are Christian just because they are "good people" (but are not believers).

                          • Ever heard the saying that "people are basically good?" Do you know that this is not true? In reality, by God's standards people are basically evil, and this is the true meaning of original sin. But thank God we can be saved from this original sin through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour! Amen.
