MtG, the Republican Party voted heavily in favor of the Civil Rights legislation. Their votes were need for passage even though they were the minority party.

As to the rest of your filth, of course there are complete idiots in the Republican Party. Being a religious extremist does not translate into bigotry given that these same extremists once were responsible for abolition and the 13th and 14th amendments.

As to the crash of '29, crash from what? A boom? Don't the people responsible for the boom get some credit for it?

Clearly Roosevelt brought necessary reforms. I and many other Republicans give credit where credits is due. That makes us different from the Democrats of this forum.

Funny how the Democrats have a collective memory block of their party before FDR.

And yes Lincoln and the Abolutions were Racists by todays standard. During that time it was commonly held belief, just like the moon was made of cheese. As times change people mature. Well, except for the Democrats........

I am somewhat confused, on the one hand MTG seems to be pro-Democrat, yet MTG also seems to have military experience.

Those are a VERY rare combination of traits.

Yes, and I realize how often the name Eisenhower comes up when the repugs mention their favorite presidents.

The slanders and smears of the Democrats are shamless.

Without sham? So you're saying they're honest?

It is amazing than any minority supports that party since it is the Republican Party that truly is the party of equal opportunity.

Yeah, the equal opportunity to be dirt poor!

I thought you weren't poor if you had lots of money.

                  And embarrassed by it?

If one is truly smart they don't have to work hard.

                      Ask Wesley Clark.

I'm an economic semi-rightwinger, socially a mix of "that government governs best which stays out of my effective range" and centrist, and "pro-military but believe in a little intellienge in how, when and why they're employed" southern Democrat. My position vis-a-vis the "mainstream" (i.e. vocally whiny welfare state liberal) Democratic party is that I'm on an OP a bit outside the far right flank of the party.

I'm an anti-Federal government, anti-religious conservatives in government, pro "gun contol is hitting the target", "pro DP if you fry the worthy and don't screw up and get the wrong guy" Democrat.

When Reagan lied about getting rid of the Departments of Commerce, Energy and Education, I was all for it, except for the part that it was a lie. When George II talks about the Feds imposing standards in education, I ask myself "OK, Georgie, who are you really pandering to, because you and I both know that education is none of the feds' damn business, and if "you people" (recall Gen'l Lee) would **** off with your unfunded mandates, I'm sure the states could manage their education funding (and most everything else) just fine.

I loathe most of the liberal whiny pukes in the Democratic party, and I think Barbara Boxer is our collective gift to the RNC, which is why they never try real hard to defeat her. But I loathe the RNC leadership, Bush, Ashcroft, Cheney, Wolfie, DeLay and the religious right social conservatives even more.

Don't pull any punches, Mike -- tell us how you really feel.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

                            My, my MTG.

                            That's a lot of loathing.

But then again, being both Military and Democrat probably generates some sort of unnatural chemical reaction to fuel it.

Oh, and Wes Clark only turned Democrat a few months ago.
