The Baptist "church" (which one? ) has no power to excommunicate, and brother Fred could simply reordain himself and found an independent church in any event.

This is the guy who has protested Falwell as a "*** lover" and regularly harasses other churches in his area because they don't preach his brand of gospel.

IIRC, he's already had the southern baptists or whatever denomination he was originally affiliated with disclaim his actions and he separated himself and his church years ago. Most of his "denomination" is his extended kin.

People like Phelps make me almost ashamed that I belong to the same species as them.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

I had the pleasure of telling Phelps and a bunch of his relatives to "go fvck themselves" (like they needed the encouragement) when they were protesting in Boulder about 10 years ago. I didn't even know who they were at the time, they were just blocking the sidewalk and carrying really offensive signs ripping on homosexuals. The next day I read about them in the local paper. They are swine, and not to be reasoned with but to be crushed utterly.

                err, umm

I don't think this monument will last long. It will be vandalized.

This is similar to what I heard on the radio that the KKK was trying to adopt a highway. People would intentionally liter if that happened.

local law enforcement might just be a tad too busy to make a priority of investigating such unfortunate acts.

That does seem a good solution.

There is nothing more a Protestant church could do with someone like Phelps. If he's 'self-ordained', than we ought to dispense with the title Reverend.

Incidentally, I'm a bit surprised Phelpster hasn't already protested Johnny Cash's funeral on grounds of "***-enabling" or something (to Phelps, after all, doing anything not involving large pyres or red-hot glowing rods of Godly love is ***-enabling.)

                                2. how the hell can some xtians (those who consider themselves christian) say that xtian extremism/fundametalism isn't as bad as islamic extremist/fundamentalism when we have xtians like this?
How many homosexuals has Phelps collapsed stone walls on, again?
