I think that the Slashdot friends/foes/random mods system works better, but ignoring crazy people in general and only opting in for specific posts in specific threads tends to make the overall experience much more pleasant.
It's nice to have an alternative to "love it or leave it".
Edit: Attachment removed. Yeah, I should probably take a few of the people off it. Whatever.
