Vladimir Vysotskiy, a famous Russian bard, poet and actor of somewhat dissident orientation. IIRC, died in 1980 at the age of 40. He was not officially liked by the Soviet authorities, but he was very popular among the people. I'm not quite sure about it, in fact. Russian officers are making problems over the border since ever.There were no problems (no visas) before you decided to submit to the EU bureaucracy.
