    • Those who have said that Gay Marriage should be allowed have the best response here, it is shocking that in the 21st Century we are not allowing homosexual's to share the same rights as us.

It may seem nice the government is looking after homosexuals but they havent gone far enough, they need to allow a proper gay marriage and even help fund such occasions to help celebrate diversity, and encourage homosexuals still afraid to show thier sexuality to celebrate in the same manner as hetrosexuals.

Of course, that's why they're called "breeders".

It's not so much heterophobia, I know at least one gay guy who is very...hmm...jealous that heterosexuals don't need to put up with the same ****.

        • Besides, I can argue that a double income no kids (DINK) marriage typical of gay relationships would be far more beneficial to society in terms of the economy than the rather costly choice of children.
Well, honey, there's more to society than economics.

Even so, what do we do if everyone adopts the DINK model? That will cause some problems when everyone wants to retire on government pensions.

Society benefits from strong families, and from encouraging marriage.

          Shi:

Government has a responsibility to regulate marriage, because government also taxes. Therefore, the government gets to decide who gets benefits and who does not from income redistribution within a household.

Common law relationships seem the best way to go, to sort out the tax issue, allow homosexuals to retain common-law relationships, while preserving traditional marriage.

Is there such a thing as heterophobia in the gay community. I mean, are there some people who despise heteros, the same way there are some people in general (including a few on this forum) who despise gays ? Have you witnessed heterophobia, heard from it, or is it completely inexistant ?
You would have to hate your ancestors to be a heterophobe.

            • most gay people are scared of heteros... but only the heteros like Bodd's... you know, the ones that wouldn't mind machine-gunning a few hundred gay people after making them dig their own graves...

I could bang on about kids from marriages being "better" than single parent/gay parent families but I won't go there.

How do you define 'socially acceptable'. Why should that definition suffice? In my opinion the concept of civil union should be got rid of in the legal sense...it is an archaic relic and has no relevence in modern society. If people love each other, move in with one another, **** and make babies. Why the need for rules and regulations over it? Why the need for shackles...if the relationship is worth it there is no need for this legal straightjacket. And very few relationships will be stable over a lifetime...it is about time we accepted this fact...we should realise that divorce/separation is a fact of life and get used to it...unions break and form all the time...
