  • Templars logged in <7hours into the turn and moved their units. Should we appeal, or just comment?

Their two Spears did move to kill Real Quiet (the attacker is on 0.8/4 strength) so are now exposed to our Mace/Pike counter attack.

Units continue to dribble towards the stack at Pink Dot. Most seem to be coming from the North, so I expect that Jericho is fairly poorly defended at the moment ... pity we can't carve a section of our Cape Town stack to take advantage.

I thought they were free to move once we log out.

Q: So, is Real Quiet dead?

        • No need to appeal since we were done with moving units IIRC. But once the 2 vs 1 ruling has gone through they should hopefully not do that in future. We should hit End Turn BTW.

          • @Sooooo - Winston the worker can move to Saxon next turn. I have many roads I would like to build with the other four in the central desert.
I didn't mean those four workers, I meant one of the three at Bluebell Woods, since that city is not growing fast enough to warrant all 3 workers. Next turn it will need all 3 because there is 3 worker turns to finish the plantation and it grows next turn. But after that one of them can reach the unimproved hill at Saxon in 1 turn. Winston takes 2 turns to get there and I think he would be better suited building this new road:

i.e. moving into the plains forest above the Twin Peaks sign and starting a road there.

BTW, templars have sacrificed both of their spears . The spear that killed real quiet is on 0.4 health and they have another combat 3 spear on the same tile. They can both be taken out by attacking with a mace to kill the good spear then any unit can kill the injured spear.

Yes, that was the plan. However since Templars did us the favor of making sure their spear was very wounded we now have the luxury of keeping our Pike in the south.

              • Do we want to do the civics swap now? I thought it was better to wait until the last Golden Age turn. Same with the revolt to (Islam?)?
If we do it now, we get the building production bonus to Airstrip One (if we swap to monastery), to Green Acres' forge and if SF goes to barracks next turn we get that bonus too.

                • @T-Hawk or regoarrarr: Do you mind turning your analytical skillz to Green Acres? That city might want to whip its forge and overflow into a barracks some time. 5 turns to forge, my feeling is to whip it later because the hammers into the forge do not benefit from the forge (duh) but the overflow hammers do. Account for org religion's +25% bonus.

EDIT: of course we don't want to leave it so late that it turns into a 1-pop whip

                  • Well done, sunrise! The enemy mounted ranks are in tatters, and our workers are about three turns away from reconnecting our road network. Real Quiet's sacrifice will be long remembered, especially since it has drawn two more Templar units into a suicidal position. If I can make one suggestion, I would like to see all unit combats mentioned individually in the turn reports, if possible. They are most entertaining to read, and they make it a little clearer to understand what happened.

For Green Acres, I would like to see it do the same thing as before, grow to size 6 and then triple-whip another settler. We can plant another useful city at the clams site in the far north, OR we could hold a settler in reserve to replace a razed Templars/Imperio city if desired. Either way, I think it would be a good use of a unit.

The only real bummer is losing our trade route income. Hopefully we'll have a chance to capture Chichen Itza at some point during this war, and thus open up the flow of trade again.

Would now be a good time to settle Twin Peaks? We can see that Templars are forcing their stack South while Imperio piddle about in the North; planting Twin Peaks now would really scare Templars and secure our link to Cape Town. We probably have enough units in the area to guard it, especially if we build a Longbow after the Monastery in A1.

There's also the Jungle site between SF & Jericho to look at, but I don't think it'll be the right time for that until after we've spanked Templars a bit....

                      • If someone can post a screenie of Green Acres or at the least give me the tiles it has, the food in the box and food to grow, and hammers invested, I can do that. I don't have access to the game right now

I think this should give you what you are looking for.

                          BTW: I ended our turn.

                          • I know we are saving money to go full steam on Nationalism ... but do we want to knock out Drama so we can get the required theatres up and start on The Globe? Obviously, war effort comes first.

                            • Green Acres is going to be our Globe city, right? That means we want Drama by the time we finish the Forge, so we can start the Theatre straight away.

Then we just need to find slots for the other 5 while in the middle of a 2-way war....

                              • Ideally we would want to build Green Acres' theater last, so that we can whip it and overflow into the Globe. The globe is going to take a long time to build and we should use whip overflow whenever possible

@ruff thanks for the screenie I will try to take a look later today
