No, Zeviz, PAL just aren't like that: they came back to us repeatedly about the CS trade, and I'm sure they can handle us doing likewise.

PAL has Stone, so we can offer it for free for 10 turns, or for their Banana. If they're going for AW, then I think this might swing the deal, as they do want Engineering at some point in time, and then they'll be able to get it now without risk of losing the Wonder.

The cost of asking is minimal, and the rewards significant, so please can we ask them?

Philo is integral to Team RB's mid-term strategy, so we're going to get one way or another within the next 6 turns. By trading for Philo, Team RB saves research time, and PAL gains 1144 beakers of trade value.

Engineering offers PAL the immediate benefit of increased road movement, and the chance to train Trebs which would surely help your war efforts.

If Angkor Wat is the Wonder you are targeting, in addition to Philo for Eng we will trade you our only Stone for your Banana for the next ten turns. We're not interested in Angkor anyway (no self-founded religion, GS-based strategy), but we hope this offer will make it clear that we won't try to build Angkor for denial purposes, as the cost without Stone is way too high.

1. Not really, PAL will guess we did see the attack coming, so we come over as cheeky.
2. I don't believe for a moment, that we are just facing 1 cat from Templars, check out their soldier points. What about walls at SF & A.
3. Trading away a resource for no other reason than to ensure we are not competing for a wonder seems like overkill. And again, once the trade gets cancelled upon DoW, PAL can't be sure of anything.

I am against such an offer for the reasons I stated above.

Walls in pink are a somewhat compelling reason to keep stone, but on the other hand the trade will be canceled and we can still slave them once the war begins.

Anything that gets PAL to trade with us saves us like 4 turns of research right? That is compelling enough for me to want to go for it.

I am changing my vote to "support". Nobody else is worried about annoying PAL, and that was my only objection. As for the stone trade getting cancelled, giving them stone is a symbolic gesture anyway. It's obvious that anybody facing a two-front war will not be going for wonders.

No, PAL doesn't know Imperio & Templars movements. We can claim they've been sitting our borders for a while if PAL asks why we didn't see war coming when it did.
