        observation balloon:

        adds +1 Range to adjacent bombard strength units.
        WHAT IS A "BOMBARD STRENGTH UNIT"?

        there is a renaissance unit called the "Bombard"

        there are "siege units" and "ranged units"

        this is semantics, but be consistent

        if you call everything siege units, don't go throwing around "bombard strength units" when nothing else is called that

        entry for "artillery" calls it a "bombard unit"

        "bombard unit" just seems to exist in the civilopedia entries...

        fix it

          the rise of mankind mod for civ4 did it very well

          that mod did a lot well

          my favorite was the culture system... it was very fluid... you could cause civil wars... new civs would develop throughout the game... derived from "parent cultures"... america from england, etc... very dynamic, deep, and fun

            the observation balloon... something that flies in the air... moves 4x as far along roads post-industrialization than it does every other terrain type

            it has one movement point

              food growth timer doesn't update after you make changes to citizens... city screen tells me 6 turns, map indicator says 13

                the solution is to mod spies out of the game until the espionage mechanic becomes something
                You could do it in cheat mode. Just change the movement of spies to 0.

                  great admirals keep getting spawned on a wonder i built on a lake

                  you can't choose to put them where you want when you recruit them, apparently

                  great admiral, don't you want to go to one of my many port cities, OR AT THE VERY LEAST A HARBOR ON THE SEA AND NOT SOME ANCIENT WONDER I BUILT ON A LAKE

                    roads only work if you begin your turn in your territory on your roads

                    roads make balloons go farther

                    i like how roads are created in this game... via trade routes

                    just make them work at all times except at war in enemy territory

                      it would be nice if roads worked for allied city states

                      they sort of half work in ai territory if you have open borders, trying to test more

                        good thing about espionage:

                        after you spam your campus and city centers, they seem to defend well against bull**** like tech boost stealing

                        you capture spies and can use them as bargaining chips in deals with the ai

                        i want to publicly execute the ones i catpure

                          but kinda bull**** that they can steal computer's boost before i'm even in a position to research it
                          i'm a full era behind
                          they are two

                          yet they get computersboost easy through spy

                          solution? spy spam

                          and the first promotion doesn't have anything for defense... you can steal tech, money, or disrupt rocketry
