  • The Great Conclave looked at the reports of Gilgamesh's atttempt to dig himself out of the hole the releasing of his anti-Rome/Eygpt communication had caused.

As if the midst of the horrific events of the murder of Shushan the Conclave would have been re-editing old correspondance, and if they had somehow conjured up the time to do it, why wouldn't they have made it more condemning.

Caught with his trousers down, what else could Gilgamesh, a self-confessed "fascistic, lying, treacherous, conniving bully ", do other than blatently lie, relying upon the worlds irrational hatred of Hindustan. Would it work? Perhaps, the hatred of Hindustan goes deep. But truth and reality always wins in the end, and the truth about Sumaria is plain for all to see.

        • Gilgamesh, Priests of Hindustan,

My scientists are trying to find out which of the two letters you published is the original one.
To help them out you may want to supply them with the original Hindustani letter that caused this response from Gilgamesh.

          Thanks in advance,

Augustus (who now has headache after staring at two simular but different letters for more then half an hour)

              • Press Release:
The National Department of Defense declares that it is exploiting multiple sources of oil, not only those sources close to the Egyptian borders. Even a quick attack on these oil wells will not stop Rome's access to oil. Roman citizen do not need to worry about the key elements of Roman warfare. As a sign of strength the Roman army has today upgraded the weaponry of many old armies. The Roman army will be very effective to counter any invasion on Roman soil. The Roman army is on of the most experienced armies in the world after being involved in many wars in the past.

Despite the strength of the Roman army and especially it's high potential, Rome is very clear about it's offensive targets: there are none. Rome prefers to live in peace with all it's neighbors and will live up to all peace pacts that were signed.

The current situation with Hindustan and Sumeria does not affect our relation with these nations.
Specialists of script criticism are however investigating the supplied texts and are reconstructing what would have been the original letter.

                End of Press Release.

                • Augustus,

You asked for a copy of the original document sent to me that provoked my, genuine, reply. I provide it now in full, despite the fact that other nations may find some of the material contentious. I cannot, obviously, provide documentary evidence of the verbal communications beforehand.

I provide it unedited even though most of it concerns other nations but that which relates to Rome makes no sense otherwise. It is a hostile and defamatory communique but I will not deny that much of it is just a gross exaggeration of that which was spoken in truth. It paints Sumeria in a very bad light but that has been done before.

Here is the truth and the World may judge:~

Great Ruler, Colossus of the World.
Recently we discussed your fears about Egypts army on your border and Romes culture. Do you wish to do something?

Our words are written in good faith, and hope yours are not a further piece of Egyptian propoganda So we will speak openly and honestly.

You promise oil but it never comes so we make peace and Egypts army is now bigger. Rome has culture now to starve your city and this is your fault. More for Sumaria to worry about. You say that nobody even talks of Russia, and that they grow and nobody seems to care. That is not true. I constantly have spoken about the fact that if Egypt attacked me it would be Egypt’s own destruction and other nations (Russia) would rub their hands in glee. We do care about Russia, and are pleased for it to gain great power as the result of Hindu sacrific, for that will be our vengeance on Egypt for its arrogance. And Sumaria is no different to Russia in growing when others fight, worse than Russia by killing little natians when others look the other way you may remember, attacked us.

Egypt has bullied and threatnened throughout the history of the world. And, Egypt has spread complete disinformation about Hinduism justifying a blantent bullying attempt to gain more power. Until Egypt treats other nations – those who have helped it and been its friend with respect, it will find that it does bleed to death, alongside Hindustan, and Russia is the victor. Be honest for a single time and give teh oil you have promised, and we attack Egypt together when time is still left. If you will not attack Egypt then help attacking Rome and Hindustan gets its own oil If Gondor fears Romes culture as much as you then they will not stop us.

It seems as if people ignore our words, or think they are empty. We always speak the truth and our strategic analysis is right.

                  The Great Conclave
There you have it and make of it what you will but you can surely see the reasoning behind my reply.

Gondor's pact with Sumeria and Mongolia remains as all other areas of policy are shared and friendly and Gondorian troops will remain in Sumeria for defensive purposes - although some have been recalled as the world increasingly militarises. The 3 way pact serves for defensive purposes only and Gondor distances itself from any aggressive action.

The Hindustanis have become a more moderate nation in recent years and Gondor urges diplomacy. War is abhorrent and if all nations operated on the basis of defense there would be no wars.

                    Strider.
                    Strider,

We will travel to Gondor for an immediate conference as you request.

Please be assured that Hindustan publishes lies about Sumerian actions. The High Priest of Sushan was offered a straight choice as to either accept that its' capture was inevitable and capitulate or to witness it's utter destruction. The fool chose the second road and there are now 120,000 dead civilians. Regardless of Hindu propaganda Sumerian troops do not enjoy bayoneting babies! They do have the stomach to do it if some foolish old cleric refuses to see reason.

All Sumeria wished for was freedom from living under a Theocratic Dictatorship by reducing Hindustan's votes whilst not filling her pockets with gold. Sushan had to go because not only was it large it was also a great place of Hindu learning. Egypt was wrong in saying that war was the last resort - war was the only solution. Until Hindustan studies Mass Media she can only be regarded as a global threat and, if no others are prepared to act, Sumeria cannot simply sit and watch the clock tic by.

The death of so many was rather unfortunate but the ends do sometimes justify the means.

                    Gilgamesh

                        • Robert, I think server problem. Game kicked me before I could end my turn and could not re-connect. Should be ok for me as I had already done all I needed but may cause trouble for later players and clock will run full distance.

                              • The Great Conclave shook its collective head when it read the continuing spew of Sumarian lies. What was the point? Cleverly done of course, the odd inserted 'teh' for effect, but complete fabrication.

Years ago they would have trusted to the good sense of fellow leaders, but now they were depressed. Nothing seemed to halt the irrational hatred of Hindustan which possessed the world. Blatent lies were believed if they were lies against Hindustan. Massacres where accepted if they were massacres of Hindus. Leaders who proclaimed themselves lying bullies, and who had launched multiple wars throughout history were treated as friends while Hindus, who had only ever launched war against one nation - the hindu heretics of Celtia - were hated.

                                What is the point?

Then the Messianic Warrior entered, reporting teh utter destruction of the Sumarian land forces which had been harrassing Hindu borders, and the sinking of almost every element of the Sumarian invasion fleet - three destroyers, two submarines, one full transport. Only one transport remained, which was still being hunted. The conclave smiled - despite the depressing trickery of the world around them, the Hindu military could at least be trusted to protect the people from the seemingly endless, demonic, pointless, attacks.
