There were only 4 axemen
The other 2 were defending my cities.
And as a matter of fact, the Brittanians are playing a wonderful game here as well!
I was not even after them, they just decided stick to the pride-chart, so they forced me to go to war on them, or lose my face. So they factually changed my plans by this stupid act of keeping their heads up
There's not even something to gain for me there! Stupid 1 city only civForce is always beside the point when subtlety will serve

I'm confused can't Persia just pillage all the improvements and kill every unit built in the city beyond the last one?
With a bit of luck 2 axemen could be enough to pull that off.Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila

So far though it stikes me that its been a great diplo early war.
Have fun with the Byzantines though as I don't believe you'll win

well, St. Petersburg was more than 25%, but with a settler it becomes manageable. Of course the site was the intended location for my economic capital and I took a big hit in BNP losing it. But Russia endures!Bare derutsya — u kholopov chuby treschat.

The Priest: No. That would be in clear breach of the 'measured war' concept as written into our rules, wouldn't it? An invasion, pillage, and then peace seems to me to be within the concept, but on ongoing campaign like that is clearly inflicting far more damange that the suggested 25%.
Well, for the record, the Britannians can end this war any moment by just only bowing their head. As long as they don't do that I guess I can continue my pillaging campaign.
This was is as measured as Britannia wants it to be.
The peace proposal is there!
- Britannia acknowledges Persia's dominance and will call it 'master'
- Britannia can settle east of the mountains, Persia west (Brittannia's suggestion)
- Persia will protect Britannia, Britannia will fight with Persia, if Persia asks for help.
- Britannia can't go to war without Persia's accord
It's up to them to accept it or not.Force is always beside the point when subtlety will serve

Definitely wasn't criticising Hairy Hog. I've been there before myself - the whole clash between a responsibility to be measured, and a (IG perfectly reasonable) beligerance from the weaker party. I can fully see the 'if they won't accept a reasonable peace, then its their fault if their pain isn't measured', though of course what is a reasonable peace is always a matter of opinion. And I can't comment on that without giving away whether I know the facts about the mountains you are discussing, the relative sizes etc., which I am not going to.
Anyway, being plunged into a discussion of rules isn't what this game needs - hope I haven't precipitated that. But, I did think that Herelictus' comment which seemed to be on the logic of 'as long as you don't destroy their capital you can do as you want' needing some response. .Last edited by The Priest; September 20, 2009, 09:22.
