People should not be able to vote for themselves, I thought Lz said as much.

The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila

I get complains that some people have no diplomatic activities in public, so it''s hard to vote on that. May I suggest htat people shine a small light about their secret diplomacy in public at least? Or hint at it. Don't keep everything in the dark.
I don't agree with the once a week voting thing for this very reason BTW. But I did vote but not confident it means that much. Some have great stories and pics; others might have clever behind the scenes strategy or both."Old age and skill will overcome youth and treachery. "

Why should most of your writing be in private?
Its a diplogame! We should try and keep the private stuff to a minimum. That said, I've already voted on the matter, so whoever hasn't voted hurry it up, the session is tonight!"Our cause is in the hands of fate. We can not guarantee success. But we can do something better; we can deserve it." -John Adams

ok. soon time for a new session
as for votes. It's time to send them in again. I know there may not be much going on for all players and a lot going on in secret, but most likely, these things will be revealed in time and get their due credit then. also, if you consider some correspondance to be non-essential, you could post it in the story thread instead. I've been using the mail mostly, and I find that works great. but I think maybe those letters could be published, but the "secret parts" edited out. or whatever. we'll figure something out. remember, not writing in the story thread = no vote points...
And finally, correct. no votes for yourself. that would just be silly.Diplogamer formerly known as LzPrst

Well if you are corresponding with someone in secret and they are doing a really good job you feel, then you should vote for them.
If a civ is making an effort to negotiate and correspond with lots of different civs in secret, then all those civs will know about it and vote for them.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

Did we ever decide what "10 tech trades" means?
For instance, if I trade 3 techs for one, how many trades have I used?
Has this been ironed out?
Also, I am finding this voting email thing extremely hard. Maybe Im retarded, but i lost one message already, and have to go to 3 different posts to login.Last edited by Pinchak; February 9, 2008, 23:17.

I took it to mean, simply, that each player gets 10 techs they can trade in the game-period.
So, as an example, if the Mali & Ottoman storylines are accurate (& we really must assume that everyone is being above board) then the Turks have traded 1 tech, whilst the Mali gave 2 in return (man, that guy really needs to learn how to drive a harder bargain!)
Anyway, this would mean that the Ottomans can trade 9 more techs, whilst the Mali can only trade another 8-does that sound right people?
