That topic may have been exhausted, what with the dearth of new information about the patch...
When the word that the patch should be out on Monday or Tuesday came out last week, it made a lot of people start looking at the clock for the release. It is Thursday now, and those from Firaxis are probably worried about the new delay in the patch.
So, rather than giving another time frame that may or may not be correct(after the last one was proven wrong), the Firaxis people are staying silent until they know for a fact that the patch is approved by QA and is in the process of being released.

Oh, I'm not angry at Firaxis or anything. I'm just saying that the consequence of all this is that there isn't much to discuss at the moment.
We could speculate on why, I suppose. Maybe Sid, frustrated by the delay, stormed into the Hunt Valley office and killed half his programmers in a bloody, frenzied rage. Clearly, this is something they would want to keep quiet about, right?

Sid's energy would be better spent dropping bombs on EA corporate offices to improve the entire game industry.
Probably not - the changes would just be fixing some of the problems that arise during development of the patch.
I'd be surprised if there is any new info before the patch itself goes live.
I take it Solver, you are not involved in the testing of the fixes to the patch?
I'm not sure about the process. I guess when the QA of Take2 find problems, the patch goes back to Firaxis to fix, and this is then tested by some of the beta testers?
The important thing about the process is that the patch can be released not when Firaxis and their QA are satisfied, but when the patch has been approved for release by Take2, meaning the release date is ultimately up to them.

Depends on how you look at it. Given that the release only happens when approved by Take2, you could say that it's always out of Firaxis' hands.
In a publisher-developer relationship, developers are usually responsible and decide how to fix things and, to a large extent, what to fix, but not how to release these fixes, how to market them and such.

I mean more in the sense that coding work on the patch may be done and Firaxis may have already created the perfect patch, but Take2 has simply yet to release it for whatever reason.
Clearly, there's no way we can know if this is the case; I'm just speculating for the hell of it because it makes me feel better.
Alexman dropped a hint that suggested that there was a problem with different versions having problems or something. My first thought that it was siimilar to the problems some of us have experienced with loading the tri-league saves.
