This has to be the strangest thread I've read in my lifetime.

Anyways, Yin you're going to have to stomach through a huge cardbox ... and I'm going to love every minute of that video.

      • Well, unfortunately, we agreed that Yin would eat a part of the box and not the entire box .

        • How much as "a part" of the box?
This space is empty... or is it?

larger then a small part of the box!
            Smaller then the whole box.
So I guess it'll be somewhere in the middle, which must be a little bit more then half the box

Maybe she's a secret Civ fan, and doesn't mind to date an hour with Yin if for a just cause.

I'm wondering: if you can have *that* for your time spent organizing The List and offering for a fair review about Civ IV and ICS, I'm sure a lot more *uninterested* fans will queue to get the prize for Civ IV list and to write down any future Civ V or SMAC 2 bible...

Ah, the hard job (no pun intended) of a game reviewer...

BTW, yes this thread is officially an hole of madness. I'm guilty my part.

Nah, she'd rather eat the whole cardbox herself rather than date him. He'd probably be whining on and on throughout the date alright.

Besides, she enjoys things in her mouth ...

                  • Its a 'wait and see theing' but I doubt that Yin will be eating anything. IMO, CIV-SMAC lost their lustre after the development of ICS and SM's apparent fanatical disregard of combat in these games.

We may not use ICS while playing against the AI, but we all know that it's the best strategy to use in order to win the game. I will be stunningly surprised if any gameplay fix can reduce its effectiveness without rendering the game unplayable and unpalatable.

Despite the fact that virtually every CIV-SMAC MP game and most SP games become a wargame, the combat in CIV sucks. It is beyond me why SM, a designer of the best wargame of its time, insists that poorly-done stylized combat remains the status quo.

I remain hopeful, though, that the game will be entertaining for a while.
We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

                      I concur with that interpretation.

                          • I am pretty convinced it is going to be better out of the box than CIV III, and I liked Pirates!, and it uses the same game engine.

So ya. I am not saying it is going to rock, but Im petty sure Im going to be happy with the game and waste countless hours of time on the computer playing it

Just like CIV II and CIV III
