The rain continued, reminding Will of their very first execution, whereas they killed Calypso the sea goddess, and her curse continued to kill the crew of the Black Pearl one at a time.
But what again, did she say so long ago? She blamed Cutler Beckett for her death. Perhaps she was right all this time and we have simply followed the false rather then the true path. It all seemed to fall into place for Will after the death of yet another of his crew through keelhauling.
The last two clues of a compass and a strip of serge seemed to be the last straw for Cutler Beckett.
The council, was, as always, split but with Will's revelations that it had been Cutler Beckett all along, he finally managed to convince the other 6 that he was right. Commodore Norrington dragged him out and tied him to the stake. It was only after his burnt corpse dropped off, did the weather finally break and they had a fine evening in the Caribbean, with a beautiful tropical sunset colouring the water a pretty shade of red.
Shall I go into the clues?

It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
RIP Tony Bogey & Baron O
With three boats camped out by Mingapulco Island, and tensions simmering between the crews, it became only a matter of time until the crews would take out their frusterations out on one another. Jack warily began chopping down the palms necessary to seal the hull enough so that they could take sail once more without taking on to much water. The concern was then how to elude both of his persuers. Davy Jones, and his cutter, the Flying Dutchman could not be outrun, and the Dauntless could not be outfought given the size and the armament.
Most of all he felt badly for Will and for his bride, Elizabeth Swann. He had convinced them to come aboard once more in the hopes that he could repay Will for his service and take them someplace nice for their honeymoon. This hardly could suffice for the young lovers.
The other men on his crew, Pintel and Ragetti, as well as Cotton and also deserved better then this miserable maroon on forsaken Mingapulco Island. Jack only hoped that the truce would hold. He sent Pintel and Ragetti to work on the hull, while Cotton had to go find enough wood to seal the breach.
Hours later, Jack collapsed from asleep from exhaustion, no sooner did he rest his eyes when the cries came out. The bloated body of Cotton was left on shore by two torches to ensure that his body was found. He had been keelhauled and then after they could be sure of his death, dragged on shore to be left as a warning for Jack. Immediately two thoughts sprang to his mind, that it had to be one of the other two boats responsible, but who? He had as many enemies as passengers, and Cotton was easier to catch then the rest of his crew.
Cutter, chopping = 'cutler' beckett
Torches, were lit using pitch, very common aboard the Royal Navy.
Was not a member of Jack's Crew.

Later he passed by the crew of the Dauntless, who were all huddled belowdecks. He could not peer into their hull, but no amount of rage could contain his frusteration with the men of the ship. Although Norrington respected him, and he doubted Norrington could be responsible for the acts, the others he knew even less about.
As Jack returned to the Black Pearl, he counted his crew and found them all together. Then the cry came out that froze him, this time from the crew of the Flying Dutchman.
Davy Jones had been found dead at the on the deck of his ship, still with his flute, with his heart stabbed by his own cutlass. It had all the markings of suicide, except for a note left in Davy Jones pocket, and a small and delicate glass rose.
The note read,
"wood a rose by any other name smell just as sweet?"
Commodore Norrington is honest, likes to kill pirates, but has a code of honour, Beckett does not.
Herring, Jack checked his crew when he left, and they were all there. Then he returned, and they were still there. So Ragetti followed him, killed Davy Jones after he walked past them, and then returned to the boat before Jack came back from his jaunt.
The glass rose, the clue was the glass part and not the rose, which was a herring. The glass refers to the desire for Ragetti to have a glass eye.
The same with the third quote, Ragetti believes that an eye by another type would be much better. He is also the only pirate that knows Shakespeare.
Mispelling of 'wood', again a reference to Ragetti's wooden eye.

All seemed to go well when Maccus showed up with some information of his own. He had long suspected one of my own crew as responsible for the death of his Captain. He asked Jack whether he had sent Will Turner, given his skill with a cutlass and one of the few who could kill Davy Jones in straight combat.
Jack took that argument very personally and suggested that Maccus should draw unless he wanted to obtain the same fate as his former master. He shoved his nose in Jack's face and insisted that as the new Captain of the Flying Dutchman, that his soul was his unless I repayed the debt owed to Davy Jones all those years ago.
Jack had been so distracted by Maccus, that he failed to notice Ragetti returning with some wood. He asked him for the wereabouts of Pintel, and he said that they got separated in the bush and that he believed Pintel was right behind him.
Jack immediately sent out a search party in vain. Again at the end of the day, he found the bloated body of Pintel, by the torches still alight in the rain. He had been keelhauled, as had Cotton.
Jack again suspected a member of the Dauntless, but who would do such a despicable act? He had so many enemies on board that ship, that the only question was who wasn't wanting to kill his crew one by one.
After speaking with Will, he remarked that Marty had one more clue that he had spotted. When Maccus came down, he thought he saw one of the crew skulking around. Searching the nearby area, we came upon a core of a green apple left behind by someone earlier that morning.

Herring, it wasn't Jack. Why would Jack try to make the death's look like a suicide if he bested him in personal combat?
Herring, Ragetti had nothing to do with the abduction of Pintel.
Clue, the Torches, again with the Royal navy, lit by Pitch so they could burn in the rain. They are also fond of Keelhauling pirates.
Clue, it was a member of the Dauntless.
Green apple, herring. Barbossa loves Green apples and just happened to be in the same area and pitched one into the trees.

With Jack dead, command of the Black Pearl fell to Will Turner, leaving only Marty, Turner and Ragetti as the remaining crew. Dejected with the loss of his Captain, Turner slumped underneath the wreakage of the ship, until they received an unlikely visitor, the former first mate of the Black Pearl, Captain Barbossa. With his parrot on his shoulder, and chewing a green apple, he offered Will advice on his first command.
Only wishing to help, the meeting was surprisingly cordial. Barbossa offered to scout to make sure that there were no more brigands lurking about. Will accepted his offer willingly, and let Marty and Ragetti go to look for more wood. Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, once again Ragetti was the only one to return.
He gave the same excuse that Marty had became separated from him while searching for the wood, but Barbossa insisted that no one else had been near as he kept watch.
Meanwhile, on the Dauntless, with the death of Jack Sparrow, there was significant debate between Cutler Beckett and Commodore Norrington. It was debated whether they no longer had any reason to remain on shore given Jack's death. Norrington insisted that they had a duty to kill the remaining pirates, while Beckett fretted over the dangers of losing not only their remaining crew, but the ship in itself. He also remained suspicious over the Flying Dutchman, who seemed to remain in port out of spite, seeking to avenge the death of their captain with the death of Will Turner.
A search party this time was more successful. They found the body of Marty lying on the ground with the glass rose in his pocket and the quote, "and makes us rather bear the ills we have, then fly to those we know not of". It had been contrived to look as a suicide, as again, a cutlass wound to the chest was the cause of death as if Marty had fallen on his own sword.
