Spaced Cowboy realised he’d made a big mistake in accusing the popular zoo keeper social drinker Mrs Tuberski. He tried to deflect attention from himself but the others including the very eager Snoopy were having none of it. ‘Meh’ he said ‘ Anything Mrs Tubs could do I can do better, give me 4 gallons of Buttface.’ ‘Sure’ I said.
After he’s finished and with one of the longest and loudest farts ever heard in those parts Spaced Cowboy passed out. We didn’t need the tranquilising dart, so we placed Spaced Cowboy on the dissecting table and pressed the button. The huge circular saw descended. Luckily we were shielded from blood guts and beer.
At the end of the production line we had neat parcels of labelled raw meat and two bonus meat balls. Though Wildebeest aren’t carnivorous, as a tribute to Spaced we left the last two in their enclosure. The Day of the Jackal
LordShiva was up early to check on progress on the expansive amphibian immersion gallery. He wanted to be sure about the security of the glass barrier between the public and the orange and the golden poison dart frogs. He didn’t want anyone hurt.
Sparrowhawk was up early to supervise the lowering of the statue of Horus on to its plinth at the entrance to the ’Bird of Prey’ aviary. He spotted the Adrian Hon boyo emerging from the Arianrhod enclosure, where he’d been checking the rhinoceros and the antelope pens. But Adrian had also been practising with the zebras, a chariot sequence like out of Ben Hur, for the grand opening.
Tuberski had a massive hangover. He had been drinking Lone Star, Texas Blonde, Shiner Bock, St Arnolds and imagining he was back in Hills and Dales. He was in such a state he could only drink milk now. His breath was so bad even the lions fainted.
Down at the Elephants and Giraffe enclosure Jonny was studying the Nubian Giraffes which had arrived in April. He was thinking of calling the enclosure ‘High Society’. This was 9th of the 10 studies being undertaken. ‘In that case, I might call my area Low Society’ laughed Kuciwalker. It was time to monitor the monitor lizards and then the snake house.
The sound of barking, brought Snoopy quickly to the Canidae enclosures. It was the coyotes and they were just in playful mood, snapping and rolling in the mud. The foxes looked on warily. Then the sound of howling from the next zone began. A time for wolves no doubt. Nothing to worry about, normal sounds but still best to check it out.
There was Duke O’York dancing with wolves. Except this was no square dance, Duke or what remained of him was being tossed about by the wolves, like a rag doll. Unfortunately the alpha wolves eat the best part of the carcass first, so even if we had saved Duke O’York , he would have been missing some key bits of his anatomy. Obviously he had tried to divert the wolves attention with black sheep: cans of Black Sheep that is, but to no avail.
I think you can guess by now it was the same modus operandi as before: the photograph, the animal / child-like ? footprint and a black thread on a splinter of wood.
