I'm currently researching Computers 9, and also managed to build the missile silo level 4, although I have no idea when.
Possibly a booze-inspired decision (see my OT thread for the reason why), but I'm glad I've got it. Now I only need to start building IPMs for extra fun!
Probably in a fortnight though.
In other news, the guy in my home system who went (i), and from whom I took so much stuff in small raids (Skanky got the big 'un), is back, and has somehow managed to change his name. I was confused when I first pressed the galaxy button, but it seems that he has only changed his name, and that of his home planet, but none of his colony names.

DON'T POST COLONY LOCATIONS HERE!!!!!
Posting them at Eventis is fine, by the way.

You can change the name by going to the Overview screen of that colony, and clicking on the name (Planet Colony). It will allow you to change it there.

In the "overview" screen, you will see Planet "Colony" (Platypus Rex), right above "server time".

Just click there, and you'll be able to rename, or to delete, your colony.

Also, you would be better inspired not to publish your colony's adress here. If we ever have an enemy that intends to harass us, he will just have to pick your adress here

Build some ABM's too, they are a great deterrent. No more easy missile attacks.

They take up space that could be used for APM's.

My new but not to be thread on Eventis was going to be about the stupid mistake I made when I attacked someone with missiles. I had four and wanted to use three to take out the defenses. When I found out I aimed them at the wrong planet it was too late. The remaining one did its best but I lost 12 cargo's and the battle ended in a draw. (His fleet was destroyed though.)

The second wave got me some resources but not nearly enough because I used only battleships for that one

Good thing nobody noticed so I could return for a second attack that went well.

I've got 20 ABM's on my homeworld. I use missiles a few times and have annoyed a few people by destroying their entire fleets and stealing the remaining resources too. I used to have 10 as standard but someone I crashed decided to go all-out and build 17 missiles to presumably attack me with.

At least he forgot to build ABM's after that, so my next attack was cheap.

I have Computers 9 and going for Computers 10.

Along with Factory 10 (when produced) I would like to think I can mass produce a good fighting force.

I am about to fire off my first 3 IPM's.....how do I do that??

(I see from the Galaxy Screen where they can be sent, is that the only way to fire them?)

Also, does attacking with IPM's count as an attack or as part of a wave or is the IPM attack completely seperate from an "attack" with regard to bashing rules??

Completely seperate. It doesn't even take up a fleet slot.

Target the most important structures first - plasma cannons, large shields, guass cannons and so on.

Not an issue there, I am attacking 60 ML, 328 SL and 1 HL, I just want to bring down the SL somewhat before I attack (and bring home 200k+ in resources ).

After a remarkably successful week of Ogaming (7k+ points pleased me, even if it doesn't impress anyone else), then I'm going all Pretty Vacant on you again. I should be back either on 3rd or 4th January to take up the reins of power once more, and will be round here this evening too.

Tis the season.

I'm hoping to leave my vacation mode right until the last minute, which means I'll have to not start research a few days before and not have a massive build queue in my shipyard either. For now, I'm happy to get a few hours in each day.
