    • Notice all the changes

      1) Landfill nearly completely gotten rid of (now it is filling back up again in its tiny four tiles. Will have to find cash to build new incinerator)
      2) Development of high rises along Cliffside Avenue and in New El Dorado
      3) See the big brown high rise? I historicallized it. I think by now it would be replaced but no it will be there forever.
      4) Some of the unessential industrial around the Base was cleared out and moved down to around the Dead Sea. The process will be complete by 2045 or as funds are available.
      5) The low-rise commercial and high tech mixed development along those parallel roads in about the center of this shot
      6) Finally, multiple unit buildings are being developed in the new addition. I've had to triple the capacity of that school in the last turn.

We tried to see if eventually we could get the militaryindustrial complex moved somewhere out of the way like Fairfield or the Islands; we no longer need the revenue (although it is appreciated as it replaces a huge portion of money that would be taxes) and it is an eyesore on the city, taking up valuable land.

But they persuaded the city council to keep the base, at least for now.

        • More Regional Planning

Just use Smileys map he already posted. I don't think anything changed.

I don't think the western cities will be keen on paying for $1000s of rails etc; El Dorado plans to put in some bus stops next turn.

Maybe in the future we'll build a subway system. It's just so crazy that it just might work.

But if it doesn't it's like 10 years of revenue down the hole so we'll wait until we need it really badly.

The People of Epwood would never support an above ground railroad.

                • Ignoring the advice of economists, city planners decided to full exploit the commercial boom. As a result the number of commercial jobs available nearly doubled to 107k.

                        • 2/3rds ought to be enough, especially since Atragon seems to have been busy frequently in the last week. I'm going to run the 2045 turn now.

Earlier plans for agricultural development were scrubbed when it was discovered that new farmers were not interested in setting up shop in the metropolis.

Existing farms were also failing due to heavy traffic and other urban issues.

                            • The new development focus was instead turned towards high technology. Built with real bricks and mortar instead of mere dot-coms, East Central's tech industry has doubled in size. Many of the new plants are built on former downtown farmland.

                              • As residents have gotten wealthy, old tenement blocks have been pulled down and replaced with bright shiny buildings. Transportation infrastructure has also been upgraded, wth more subway lines and a rail bridge across the Gulch.
