I dont think this works in CTP..maybe another player may know..but I keep my battle views off unless an intnse battle?

I have a Large empire in my games..Usually Gigantic Maps

So you can see the reason with having say 8 spots and say >70 cities and perhaps >300 units..

THATS a lot of battle views

On a realted issue to battle views

I dont hink it should be an issue about disbanding a city about to be attacked
          I often use this Tactic:

Say one person has Numerous Tanks >120...
You are Kicking Butt 'N "Tanking Names."..

Say you take out a small city well defended and end up with say 4 injured/low powered units left and no reinforcements available..

I see I will be beaten next turn by AI or player..

I will sell off the best improvement and disband the city

So at least my opponent wont get it!

          I dont see as a bug ...

I hope this meets Prime Minister Bl@[K!(@'s approval as strategy..

If you tested it in single player or even multiplayer but against AI then the battle should resolve as you mentioned, which is something I do know anyways and it suppose to work that way
Once Keygen, and only once I saw what happens when you disband a city whilst the data that you had done so was passing to an opponent who decided to try an attack on the city.. Result major data goose up.. As regards the close screen.. I don't think so... It will be tried now however.

              • Wonder what others says to this:

You have a settler "somewhere". Not anything disireable within sight. BUT you settle anyway.

                Now:

1: Something good shows up and you let your city stay.
2: Nothing shows up and you disband your city again loosing only one movepoint.

It is certainly not a bug - but does it belong between "acceptable" hints - or not?!

                Your opinion pls.

P.s.: I have used it from time to time. Now I just want to find out if this is "bad" manner.

                  • Agreed Math.. Remember a turn is 50 years or 5 or 2, so there is nothing wrong with a small village forming, then moving elsewhere.. thats why you CAN disband a city up to size 3.

Also nothing wrong with creating a small village, running a path to it, and then moving further a field.. Very much like the railway communities in States? They did such a thing in shorter time periods..

Th only "BAD MANNERS" Mr. Birdie is if you "UNPACK" then "PACK" your city up..not leaving a little present...

                      PRESENT YOU SAY?

                      YES!! A PRESENT!!

I am talking about have a little traveling settler..build a few Listening Posts around the world to ..um.."OBSERVE" troop concentrations/movements around the globe...

Not necessarily on the Major Thoroughfares like River Tiles..
But My (R.I.P. FADED GLORY-HOLE BUDDY taught me this)..watch for mountain ranges being crossed with Marines or Fascists..

Yes Folks we have some people out there..bent on destruction of Trolldom and the likes of them type of communities..

I fell in Love with that idea of the Build a city-plant a listening post-disband a city idea years ago

Optional would be to build roads or rr on each side of that city ifin you wanted to expedite travel..."TO & FRO" of your vacation..er..um..Invasion destination....

                          • Right Dimytes. I can easily follow you - that is, I COULD easily follow you.

But after having just one game with this underdog, The Troll, I have chosen to READ his posts.

In our non-challenge game, we even agreed to be allowed to open each others turn for comments to the opponent. Yet I misunderstood his strategy and got a well-deserved defeat.
