You have to admit it's pretty cruel of the CFP committee to have TCU pass undefeated FSU in the rankings and be #3--a seemingly secure spot--only to drop them to #6 in the final rankings, even though they beat their opponent that week in a huge blowout. Can't blame their fans for being frustrated.

The committee shouldn't release any polls prior to the final rankings, IMO. This just makes them look fickle and inconsistent.

What is there to complain about? We got SEC number 2 in Ole Miss.

You got Free Shoes University. We got the better bowl game. Plus, after Bama pastes you, nobody will be mistaking Oregon for anything resembling national champs.

Let's be clear - Bama let you in because Bama isn't worried about Oregon. They have it all set up. An extra bye week followed by the Ducks. Pretty sweet.

Or even better, Free Shoes pulls out the win and don't even have to play the Ducks.

It is kinda cruel, and I think you are right about not putting out a poll until the last week. But regarding them not making the playoffs, I've said it from the start: You must win your conference to play for the national championship.

Hard to believe this is the third snub in 5 years for TCU. Snubbed in 2009 with the Separate but Equal bowl, and snubbed again in 2010 when they were left out of the Auburn/Oregon shot, and got a share of the national championship.

Both times they were undefeated going into the bowls. This time they were in a big 5 conference but suddenly, 'it's not enough' to have one loss and still make the top 4.

The irony is that in removing the best teams from the 'playoff', they've turned it into just another couple bowl games. And not even the best ones at that.

The ultimate in sour grapes. After getting shut out you start having fantasies that the bowl they did get is for the "real" championship. It is so laughable but typical. You just won't let it go.
I hate OSU but was rooting for them last night hoping their victory would knock out your team. It was fun to watch. (of course it would be more fun if the Illini ever got good, but a bowl game is a step in the right direction)

A harder OOC schedule would have helped. Beating Baylor would have helped. A conference championship would have helped. Ifa woulda counda shouda.

Oh I am not complaining about them not being in. There certainly was no good rationale whatsoever to have TCU ahead of Baylor, at the very least. My point is that the committee should never have released a poll showing TCU at #3 when they knew it was entirely likely that Baylor could pass them by winning against KSU and claiming rights to any Big 12 conference champ playoff spot.

Yeah, and? Ohio State lost to the Hokies. By two TDs at home. Baylor lost to West Virginia in Morgantown. Ohio State had to go to 2 OTs to put away Penn State. (which in retrospect would have put TCU in it).

TCU has the best resume of anyone and that includes Oregon, save Bama.
