Not a shock those three are in it. I would have liked to have seen Boykin and Barrett invited as well.

LOL at the whole computer thing. The same computer that has the hogs at 13, ahead of two team it lost to and an Ole Miss team that was destroyed by the Hogs at #4 with 3 losses. And also the same computer that must have a pure SEC bias, with 10 of the SEC teams in the top 21....

How can a computer have SEC bias?

You say "computer" like it's the only right way to look at the teams. That it is always correct and doesn't have the biases of humans... But the "computer" is biased based on the person that programmed the software. Computer ranking are as biased as any one person's opinions. Sure, it all about formulas and data... but somebody has to tell the computer what to look at it. And just like any other opinion, I'm sure every programmer would come up with a different system for ranking the teams.

The AP poll and all but 2 of the computer rankings had the same top 4 as the CFP committee selected, although the seeding differed.

Basically, we could have just avoided the committee hullabaloo by keeping the BCS rankings and just using them to seed the top 4 teams for a playoff. Why bring Condi Rice into the equation?

It is. All ELO does is calculate based on the sample size and the wins and the losses and uses them to determine who should be ranked.

What it removes is the bias from the Coaches' Poll.

A computer literally cannot have SEC bias. If the computers are stating that the SEC is the strongest, then that is an objective measure that the SEC really is the strongest.

Computers alone (no Coaches' poll), have TCU at 2. Bama at 1, Oregon at 3 and Mississippi State at 4.

Ohio state is 5 and Baylor is 7 (behind Mississippi).

The ranking 'program' is ELO, which is based on wins and losses. It's used in all sorts of competitions to rank individuals in a fair fashion.

ELO is a great system. Chess uses it and it's been used for 30 some years.

Boris, computers only have TCU at 2. The BCS poll includes the AP and the Coaches' Poll, so it is not really a computer ranking.

Nor is it correct to use a ranking that also includes itself.

In any case, the objectively strongest bowl game is the Peach.
