He's actually claiming the level of competition is superior to the two games that have meaning, and using that to suggest that there is some scenario in which TCU ends up as national champs. It's not just my opinion. Highest rated bowl game is the Peach in terms of expected competition. They rank both 'playoff games' very low, because they don't expect much from either Ohio State or the Seminoles, which suggests very clearly that the real top 4 includes TCU + Baylor.He's not talking about TV ratings, rah. Starting from that premise, and the fact that Ole Miss defeated Bama, TCU has a serious case for the national championship if they win, regardless of the playoffs.
It's an unfortunate result for Bama and Oregon, but that's what happens when you exclude the number 2 team in the country.
