  • There's been a ton of trolling in this thread, Albie. For example, I point out MRTs troll.

Longhorns out, gay player in: NFL teams drafted more gay players than Texas Longhorns in 2014.
He's trying to troll Slowwy, but sadly, he's an unsuccessful troll. The problem is that he didn't do his research. Slowwy's a Tech fan, not a Longhorns fan. It pays to do your research, to be a successful troll.

AHH, so when pax does it, it's an insult that requires an apology but when you do it, it's a troll. Got it. No double standard there.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Geesh. Football fans always troll each other. We'd troll Chicago, but they have the Cubs.

I think it's because Pax is Black.

Hey Ben, what do you think about Teddy Bridgewater on the Vikings?

Wow. The race card. That's pretty original, Albie. As I said - I thought he should apologise for smearing my coworkers who never did him any wrong. Comparing them to David Koresh is a bit much, no?

Without looking, I'm going to guess that he's Albie's latest black QB hope.

Didn't know and don't care. Is he going to be the next thing for you?

I'm more interested in the Jax pick - the number one QB this draft who sure isn't getting much press.

The Jags have said they plan on letting Bortles learn on the bench his rookie year. The problem with Jacksonville is having just lost MJD and Justin Blackmon, they seriously lack in talent for when Bortles finally gets the starting job. He is built like a QB (6'5" 232lbs), though, unlike his fellow 1st round QB's who are both undersized.

Manziel is in Cleveland sans Josh Gordon.

So yes, I would say Teddy Bridgewater (who has the benefit of a strong O-line, AP, Greg Jennings/Kyle Rudolph/Cordarelle Patterson) is the favorite to do well at least in the short-term given his situation. He was a guy who was the favorite #1 pick until an unusually bad pro day somehow erased hours of tape and analysis in people's minds.

Plus Bridgewater has your favorite Norv Turner developing him.

I've picked the Jax QB up when it was Garrard, and had to cut him. Strangest cut I've ever seen in my life.

Ok, I'm not exactly a Manziel fan, I'm more interested in Bortles.

I'm firmly in Bortles camp here in evading the QB dumpster fire that is the Vikings.

                    Looks like he's doomed then.

Because Jacksonville is really where they produce QB's?

                      • I guess Cleveland wasn't totally stupid

CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Browns are acting as if Josh Gordon is already gone.

With the status of their Pro Bowl wide receiver still unclear for next season, the team added two veteran free-agent wide receivers Thursday, agreeing to terms with Miles Austin and signing Earl Bennett.

Both players give the Browns insurance in case Gordon, the team's top playmaker who led the NFL in yards receiving last season, is suspended for a year after reportedly failing another drug test.

Austin and Bennett have been available since March, but the Browns passed on them in favor of signing veteran Nate Burleson to challenge Greg Little for the No. 2 receiver's spot. However, a report last week that Gordon is facing a one-year suspension forced the Browns to find some quality help and rookie general manager Ray Farmer added Miles and Bennett.

Despite being aware of Gordon's situation, Farmer passed on drafting a wide receiver last week. At the time, Farmer's inaction seemed peculiar, but the team obviously had other options in mind.
This might explain their "interesting" draft

And in the bad news keeps getting worse department

BOSTON (AP) -- Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, already jailed in connection with a 2013 shooting death, looks forward to proving his innocence on charges that he ambushed and gunned down two men after a chance encounter inside a Boston nightclub a year earlier, his lawyers said.

Hernandez has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and other offenses in the July 2012 killings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado. A third man was wounded in that attack.

An indictment Thursday places the gun in Hernandez's hands weeks before he signed a five-year, $40 million contract with the Patriots and went on to catch 51 passes and score five touchdowns during the 2012 NFL season.

Hernandez, 24, has pleaded not guilty in the killing last year of Odin Lloyd, 27, a semi-pro football player whose body was found in an industrial area near Hernandez's home in North Attleborough. He was released by the Patriots last summer after being arrested in Lloyd's death.

His attorneys, Charles Rankin and James Sultan, said their client was looking forward to his day in court on the latest charges. ''It is one thing to make allegations at a press conference, and another thing to prove them in a courtroom,'' they said in a statement.

According to Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley, the night of the 2012 shootings unfolded when Hernandez and an associate went into the Cure Lounge at about the same time as the other men. The prosecutor would not describe what he called their ''chance encounter,'' but said there was no evidence that Hernandez knew the victims beforehand.

After the men left, Hernandez followed in an SUV and pulled up alongside the men as their vehicle was stopped at a red light in Boston's South End, Conley said.

''Aaron Hernandez fired a .38-caliber revolver multiple times from the driver's side of his vehicle into the passenger's side of the victim's vehicle,'' killing de Abreu, 29 and Furtado, 28, Conley said.

The case remained unsolved for months, but following the Lloyd shooting, Conley said the SUV was found in Bristol, Connecticut, where Hernandez grew up, and the gun used in the double shooting was recovered from a person with ties to Hernandez. Previous court documents have said the vehicle was found at the home of Hernandez's uncle.

Conley would not say whether prosecutors suspected a link between the two cases beyond their accusations of Hernandez's involvement.

A spokesman for the Patriots said the team had no comment.

Families of the victims in the Boston shooting have filed civil lawsuits against Hernandez seeking $6 million for the wrongful deaths of the two men.

Hernandez was expected to be arraigned on the new charges in Suffolk Superior Court next week.
